ニューオーダーチョッパーショーの出展車両を進めていきます。
今回はエンジンのボアアップを行います。
S&S製のボアアップキットを使用して、1200ccにします。
そのまま使用できる、ボルトオンキットの製品ですが、実際はそのままでは使用できません。ピストンリングの計測、そして加工が必要です。
ピストンリングの合い口隙間を調整します。
シリンダーヘッドは超音波洗浄機にて清掃後、バルブシールを交換して組付け。ロッカーカバーはフランスのEMD製のパーツを取り付けしました。

We are moving forward with our exhibit vehicle for the New Order Chopper Show.
This time, we will be bore up the engine.
We will be using a S&S bore up kit to increase the engine bore to 1200cc.
This is a bolt-on kit product that can be used as is, but in reality it cannot be used as is. The piston rings must be measured and modified.
Adjust the gap between the piston rings.
The cylinder head is cleaned with an ultrasonic cleaner, valve seals are replaced, and assembled. The rocker covers are made by EMD in France.

The word “bottom” on your piston ring compressor, should be pointed at the bottom of the piston instead of the engine case (people get this confused often) This will ease putting your piston rings into the cylinder during assembly 🤙🏽

Yes, if you think about it… the “pinch” area of the piston compressor is offset, the offset is toward the side marked “bottom”… so the squeeze created by the compressor will squeeze harder toward the offset side, and you want the rings squeezed more that the piston skirt when trying to squeeze the rings into the cylinder.
