How exactly was this track ahead of its time?
@fantabulouso1647 Жыл бұрын
@@krasteffor 1981, new order had a really unique mix of post-punk and electronic/house that not many, if any, bands were doing at that time. movement and it’s singles are really unique in that aspect because it still has that joy division punk sound, but also hints at what new order was going to become. i wasn’t born in the 80s so i could be talking out of my ass, but i haven’t heard a band that was doing what they were doing in the early 80s.
@krasteff Жыл бұрын
@@fantabulouso1647 Before New Order there was Giorgio Moroder and before Movement there was Italo Disco. New Order were fans/influenced by Italo and later by Belgian new beat, in both instances being behind in trends. I (everyone) can give specific examples of how influential Italo was, e.g from Stock Aitken Waterman to Eurodance. The same applies to say Cabaret Voltaire, having been instrumental in the development of Chicago/Detroit house/techno, as well as a direct influence to EBM/new beat. But when it comes to New Order, one can hardly point to specific examples, resorting instead to general statements like "very influential band".
