Same here in the Philippines, I was 19 when my Mom took me to the US for summer vacation. I picked up the Substance album in a record store in Hollywood Blvd. back in April 1987. I’m now 56 and I still love this music, one of my fave New Order songs.

'Thieves' was arguably one of the best - if not the best - track they ever did. Looking back at this performance 36 years on, there really was nothing else quite like them. Everybody had their place - and were certainly greater than the sums of parts - which is why things now aren't quite the same.

The (un)perfect And angst Bernard vocals, his style that gives a shitty for audience cos he's singing for HIMself with closed eyes mustering the focus on singing, Hookie, in opposite show all his skills wirh zero shy, Gillian (My silent Godess, how i love her) doing his job on keyboards and the human durmam Machine, the most cool couple of rock. How we are fortunate for ali the masterpieces this mancunians had bring for us. Cheers for them!

Bernard is the most UNCOOL rock star ever, he was unique and special in the 80s but now he is an embarressment. Gillian is an enigma, it's hard to tell what she actually brought to NO but the results are on record, bit of a slam to call her just "beautiful" like she was just a visual element.

The TV show Host said they were singing LIVE, though everything they're playing is LIVE. New Order wouldn't stoop to miming. They had a PUNK ethic, even if the music wasn't. Though some people will challenge me on that, saying they played PUNK Electronic Dance music. I've had the immense pleasure of seeing them LIVE twice. I own the 12" vinyl of this song. it has brought to a blubbering mess on quite a few occasions.
