Seeing Maxwell at Essence is still one of the best highlights, but when Lionel Richie brought the members of The Commodores on stage I was super happy. Suggest that everyone goes to Essence at least once in a lifetime, well worth the money and experience. Plus New Orleans is just beautiful, and the food...still lip smacking.

I was in Nola also, that prince concert was the best experience I've ever had he had everyone sitting on pins with all those curtain calls it was amazing ...... Great video you are amazing!!!

Great vid! I had the pleasure of seeing Prince about a year or 2 ago. You are definitely right.....if you see a concert see Prince! It was amazing & I had 4th row seats! Such an experience.

New Orleans looks beautiful! I love how bright and colorful the city is. I'm a HUGE music fan so I've gone to so many concerts that I've honestly lost count. I've been going to concerts since I was 7. :-) Some of my favorite have been The Killers, Phoenix, Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, Madonna, and St. Vincent.

I was sooo excited to see this! I have always been a huge Prince fan, and at the time of the Essence event I visited L.A. for the first time. Something told me to plan my trip the correct way. Fly to L.A., fly to New Orleans and go back home. You were living my dream, and that is HELLA AWESOME! :)

I, too, had the pleasure of enjoying Prince's PurpleEssence on July 4th, and though I didn't have floor seats or the pleasure of being his photographer for the event (*can't you just hear my jealousy?*), his show was phenomenal!! Definitely a once in a lifetime experience that was well worth it!

I LOVED NOLA! You will NOT have a bad meal when you're there. All of the staples, Mothers, Dookey Chase, ALLADAT! That is the one city I am DYING to go back to, lol. As for conerts.. Janelle Monae puts on one helluva show. And if you just need to hear a phenomenal voice without all the bells and whistles... Jill Scott. All she needs to do is stand and you're in awe...

I love love LOVE New Orleans! Its my favorite city in the US right now! It has so much history and beauty and the food is bomb (I swear I gained 10 lbs out there). Next time you go, you have to check out the botanical gardens and go on a ghost tour of the French Quarter. It will freak you out but I swear its really fun!

I know how you feel, I was supposed to go to Prince concert in Jersey, bought tickets and everything but I came down w/ bronchitis and ended up spending my birthday in the hospital instead. :( I was suppose it was a good thing b/c if I had gone w/ the guy I was seeing at the time I probably wouldn't have had the courage to leave him and find the guy of my dreams who I'm in a relationship w/ now.
