This is the game that clinched the Saints first winning season. I remember listening this game on the radio. Jim Henderson went nuts when the Saints intercepted on that last play. Good times.

Pittsburgh Steelers rookies Rod Woodson and Hardy Nickerson making an impact. Both players would be selected to the 1990's All Decade Team.

For me when The Steelers got Kevin Greene was a big upgrade to their defense.

I didn't realize how good an analyst Hank Stram was. He ane Tim Bryant were an excellent pair.

Saints caught a break 💔. They were going against the late 80s Steelers not the 70s Steelers.

I forgot in 87 strike season they had to eliminate 1 game before the scab games were played. That is why they were saying the Saints at 8 wins would have a winning season. They probably would have went 13-3 that year because the game they eliminated was home against the Falcons.

Plus if the saints had their starters they could have beaten the cardinals

The reaction of one of the members of the chain gang during the goal line stand is hilarious. Clearly the officials have been against the Saints for at least 30 years.
@bhmch392 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, chain gang members can be biased because they don’t travel with their teams and are usually homers when they do the games. Although they do tell them to not show obvious bias, which this one did. Good Eye though! I didn’t see it until I saw your comment, then went back and looked at it.

If the steelers had better play calling and not off tackle plays on 2nd and 18 and threw backshoulder passes to 6ft6 wedgie Thompson there offense would have put points on the board mark Malone when he had time to throw wasn't bad not everyone could be big Ben or Terry bradshaw
