I was in the french quarter just yesterday and the evening before. I left in a rush due to the attack. I heard the commotion and shots fired. I saw there were just flimsy fences for a barracade on the streets. The gentleman is correct. If the cherry picker had not been present, there was nothing to stop that terrorist man from running down as many people as possible. The city should have had more protection in the form of steel and concrete barriers. It's inexcusable in my opinion for attractions like the quarter with thousands of people walking the streets during a holiday and big sporting event to not provide. It's unfathomable in our age of extreme violence and auto related incidents.

God was right where He has always been throughout eternity... in the heavens still making Himself available to humans that constantly reject Him. Humans who don't want to acknowledge the God in Jesus Christ's will and ways...but yet, somehow, blame Him for humans' evil, bad choices. When evil, bad choices are made by humans, humans will suffer consequences. These consequences can be as deep and as final as death. But God, slow to anger and full of loving-kindness still makes Himself available even in the midst of this rejection. I hope you can come out of the darkness and see the light and love in this. Be well and be at peace.

HE WAS IDENTIFIED WITH HIS THOUGHTS. That is the root cause of human suffering, he tried to cause mass carnage in direct correlation to the degree of his suffering. That's how badly this guy was burning alive inside. I don't care about idealogy, or extremism, or religion because HE allowed it all to happen and he was clearly looking to religion to get him out of that burning. And unfortunately it likely poured gasoline on the fire that was already burning. His identification with thought forms was too strong and he didn't know where to look besides trying to take as many people with him down as possible

We need mindfulness training in our public schools. Sadly, America is too religious to accept Eastern practices.
@matthewsdonnelly2 күн бұрын
@ For now… Here the irony of that What if we found out just hypothetically speaking that almost all mental health problems were related to religions like Christianity and Islam that engrave you into believing your the thoughts or anything that comes and goes? This dude converted from Christianity to Islam so he was both probably ripped into shreds from both. And that because they have such a huge impact on our culture especially here in America why is that America is home of the most public mass killings? People aren’t ready to hear this so we are unfortunately going to have to keep suffering these until it literally forces a Mindful Awakening
@lorimiller4301Күн бұрын

@lorimiller4301 Right. But the stigma is still heavy. I have Christians telling me that yoga is evil and meditation empties the mind to allow demons in. This is the sort of Bronze Age thinking that we're dealing with in America. A lot of backward ass rednecks, clinging to their Bibles and guns.
@matthewsdonnellyКүн бұрын
@@lorimiller4301But don’t you think for that same reason there is a direct correlation to our fear to own so many guns. America doesn’t need to accept the East, but it will have to suffer with these types of events accordingly

OK, let's analyze what Paul says, They awoke to the sound of a crash. Then a pop, pop, pop, pop. Hmmm. Immediately after all this shooting starts. Never heard of this. I would assume there is so much chaos that shooting would not happen immediately after the crash. Makes no sense. Their testimony sounds so bogus. All they could do was "pray and bear witness". Who, I ask you who? Who says this? "The only thing we could do was to "be a witness and pray." Nobody talks like this. Nobody. All BS. And, then, on top of this, they have all the medical experience to help and they did nothing! Nothing! And they knew the name of some random guy in the wheel chair, yet they did not leave their hotel and try to offer help. You can't even try to make this xhit up. No one talks like Paul and Anika.
