Jeremi Sensky recounted his experience on New Year’s Eve when a truck driver plowed through crowds on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Speaking to NBC News' Tom Llamas, Sensky described finding himself face down on the ground, hearing gunshots.

Yes, a while back in STL city a two year old was hit by street gunfire. Bystanders stood there and filmed him on their phones. A cop arrived on scene and rushed the baby to a hospital where he passed. The poor cop left the ER with the whole front of his blue shirt stained red with that child's blood. Same city where they love to dis police officers and claim mistreatment by them.

I'm paralyzed from the chest down since 2014. I also am missing one leg. Even in hospitals and nursing homes, people don't "get it". I had a physical therapist tell me that I wasn't "doing enough" for myself. They see that I'm missing one leg and they assume that that's the reason I'm in a wheelchair.

You would hope. But it’s the right now medical debt and then the life long medical debt. I would hope to die in a situation like this bc the amount of stress financially and then all the potential care he will need for the rest of his life. Hospitals will keep him alive but him and his family will pay for it. They stopped helping those who helped during 9/11 so I don’t think the government will help. I’m glad he is recovering, hope they will get the financial support because he didn’t deserve this.
