Glad you're all good, bro. Terrible tragedy. Look forward to see what Junkyard Fox has in store for 2025.

Glad you’re safe. And glad you’re taking a real world approach. There’s a big difference between able and allowed. Concealed is concealed. Stay safe man.

I got rid of my SigSauer 380. I had it in a new shoulder holster, and it fell out. It hit the ground and fired. I now carry ruger SP101 in 357. I was in Louisiana in 1973. Nice people there.

Happy New Year to you and yours. Thank God you were not part of that tragedy. Funny how you mentioned that you just did the review of your EDC and here you are doing another one. I say that because it was something on my mind. How often do people change their EDC's and how many different EDC kits do you think each person has or should have? I know with me I have, just off the top of my head , 4. A small EDC thats more like a wallet, just for going to stores . Paired with a small shoulder sling EDC kit I leave in the truck in case I am further from home that stays in my truck. A larger EDC in the truck thats like a 3 day bugout kit and then a day hike EDC kit that goes into my day pack after packing everything else I need for that particular hike.

When I was working in Louisiana, the Cajuns would warn me to stay out of "Nawlins" and they wouldn't even go there, and those were some tough dudes. But, I did, and I carried my 2nd Amendment with me, as well. This past October, my little sister and her husband went there. They went on a riverboat cruise and upon boarding, her purse got searched by security. As she told me, "They opened my purse and looked in and saw my 2nd Amendment, smiled, closed it up and told me I was good." I honestly have no exceptional memories from the place. I went, I saw, I ate, and that's about it. I do know where I got my shoes, now, though. Just be careful of pickpockets in the crowds.

Glad you were not harmed in the tragedy although you were too close for me. You're right, cool place to visit especially during Mardi Gras but wouldn't want to live there. Too crazy. Constitutional carry in Louisiana now, how nice. EDC looking good, you're all set. Enjoy your trip and stay safe.

Love New Orleans! You ever think of incorporating a tourniquet into your edc? I keep one in my med kit that's in my car but was debating finding a way to carry one on body. Oh I carry a P365 as well. Excellent choice!

I like the jacket. Haven't been to New Orleans in many years. It used to be beautiful but dirty and dangerous at night. Probably worse now. Nothing lately has been safe. I really like the helikon tex bushcraft bag because of its size. I really don't understand everyone carrying a firstaid kit like they are medic. I personally believe all you need is ducktape and aspirin and maybe Imodium. Anything else is useless weight. Unless you have a needed med for allergy. I just don't get this push for useless junk. Ive worked some very dangerous jobs we never carried firstaid kits everywhere. Usually had one on jobsite everything else was ducktape and rags. Just a thought not really a rant. 😊

Louisiana has constitutional carry now, but by law you can't carry in an alcoholic beverage outlet. Just about all restaurants have wine-and-beer licenses so they qualify as ABOs. But, hey...better to have the good guys catch you with it than the bad guys catch without it.

When you get to 70s your EDC changes to gasx, tums, meds, wet wipes, Kleenex, eye drops, hand sanitizer, bandaids, cremes, body odor scents, mask, tooth brush, and mouth wash😂. You no longer want to fight or care about survival. Enjoy it while you can.✌️

I haven't done anything that involves a crowd of people in a good twenty years. I have no problem fishing at night all by myself. The only thing I have done with crowds was to go to church a few times but the churches my dad preached at were in small towns with less than thirty people. I used to live in Denver but after stuff that happened out there when I lived there I stopped doing the crowd thing not even movie theaters

New Orleans never impressed me I’ve always considered a shit hole plain and simple a lot of history a lot of cool architecture and houses etc. it kind of reminds me of Las Vegas without the gambling but then again you’re gambling your life away in New Orleans

New Orleans has plenty of gambling, such as the casino at the foot of Canal Street and the video poker machines in just about all bars and restaurants.
