Yea … kinda knew where this was headed in the first few minutes… I didn’t think you compared actual living strengths.. Baton Rouge has a National award winning parks and recreation program , National ranked library system, home to the only HBCU system In the world . And college sports is only a multi billion dollar industry which LSU has a top 10 global brand recognition with multiple national championships in most sports … Also no attention to the outdoor activities in Baton Rouge such as swamp tours , hiking trails , paddle boating. Yea this really didn’t highlight the strengths of either … rather it took the strengths of New Orleans and compared it Baton Rouge .

Keep in mind that these videos are mostly directed to those moving to these areas. What they mostly want to know about is home prices, cost of living, real estate market, school systems, etc…but you made some very good points and I hope people see your comment for additional info!

Young families with children consider schools first. Both cities have poor public schools, and both have good to excellent private and parochial schools. Both cities have suburbs with better public schools. St. George, an unincorporated part of East Baton Rouge Parish, established itself to break away from the Baton Rouge schools and establish its own public school system.
