Never mind. I was about to ask why nobody mentioned Scotland, but Y'all hit it. A lot of the violence stems from drugs, and drug issues stem from the fact that young black men really aren't afforded the opportunities others are. It's really sad, because too many young men are put into the position of being the man of the house at a very young age. They have no real assistance keeping their families going, so the quick way to make enough to keep the lights on and feed their mom and siblings. The way the world works down here seems to almost be designed to keep the young people hopeless. I wish things would change, but it doesn't look like it will anytime soon.
@detectif10612 жыл бұрын
so these kids deserve help from who? or maybe you should blame their parents?
@domainjohnson74012 жыл бұрын
Drugs plays a part but most of the violence is retaliation now. It may have once started about drugs but now it’s about getting back at who killed ya Patna/cousin/brother or whatever. Most of the gangs are based off somebody who died from that area. Block banging mostly. Anybody that says it’s about hoods is most likely older. Because all the hoods are divided. The south side use to all be one. Now it’s broke down in multiple different sections who are beefed out with each other. Baton Rouge is so divided when it comes to cliques/gangs.
@QEsposito510 Жыл бұрын

As someone that lived in Baton Rouge for 32 years and still works there, the main reason the city is a sh!thole is because of the mayor and her "doing things different" police chief (who's managed to do absolutely nothing except run up enormous amounts of attorneys fee's due to all of the lawsuits against him). The crime is out of control and they dont want to do anything about it so obviously the criminal element knows they can do whatever they want without any recourse.

There’s a whole lot in between north and south Baton Rouge. Eazy town, park town, Dixie, Prescott, ghost town, fairfield. None of these hoods are consider north br. Scotland, banks, Zion city, the oak and a few others make up north br or as called the 3rd world. Also Kevin gates is not from the top he from the bottom. I love swamp stories but I’ve been thru only 3 mins of this video and this is mostly incorrect. The one thing that’s is correct is Baton Rouge is wild everywhere you go

I’ve lived both north and south and many in between in my 21yrs in br. Born and raised. If you ride down plank road you will hit 60 percent of Baton Rouge hoods back to back. It’s the only city I’ve been that doesn’t have any middle ground between hoods. They pretty much just run into each other except gardere lane. All the suburbs are on the outskirts of town

you can't be br from all them hoods is the metro easy town the park all that is north br when you cross Florida Boulevard that's when the south starts
@theyeahpodcast2 жыл бұрын
@@popppadoc27 I'm born and raised in br bro. Scotland Square, baker, s. 17th, Keokuk st, evergreen st, delphine, 15th and terrace. These the places I lived so stop, nobody considers easy town, park town or none of that north baton rouge. Yes its all north of Florida Blvd, but south baton Rouge is not half of baton Rouge. Dixie people don't consider themselves north baton rouge. I guess gardere lane is part of the Southside just because it's south of Florida blvd. It's doesn't work like that. Everything south of Florida ain't the Southside neighborhood. Hell valley park south of Florida too. They definitely not southside. There's a difference in the southern part of the city and the "Southside neighborhood". And if you really want to get technical, the Southside doesn't actually start until you cross north blvd which is 2 blocks south of Florida.
