Thx for spotlighting Quick Steps. Question: how do you use Quick Steps (in New Outlook) to create & send a new email? I had several Quick Steps in the Classic Outlook, but they're gone in New Outlook.

My Quick Steps action list doesn't include an option to Pin, as of November of 2024. Unless I'm overlooking something very obvious (which wouldn't be unprecedented!). But otherwise, why on earth this option would be removed is another on a long list of confounding and aggravating decisions made by Microsoft in its updates. It seems like MS is always taking away the features that I find most useful.

Can we make a rule for flagged emails to move separate folder

Outlook use to allow you to choose a specific date for a flagged email. Is that no longer an option with the new outlook?

Please did you find the answer? It's driving me insane, I used to be able to put speciifc days like a Tuesday or Friday for responses and now there's only default.

No! I had to switch back to the older version. There are too many important features that were taken away with the new outlook.

I use a search folder to show all flagged items then have that folder in my favourites pane. However the newest version of outlook doesn’t have search folders functionality 🙄 So I stayed on the old version for now but I can’t use Copilot unless I move to the new version 😡

I can add Search folders in New Outlook. In the folder list I scroll to the bottom. Right click on Search Folders and create new search folder. But the choices are limited for my search scope. I hope that will change soon

@@DarrellaaS there is no Search Folders to right click on in newest outlook (desktop app) Edit: search folders now appears as an option, must have been an update installed by my enterprise admin. Doesn’t work as well though, the options for grouping and sorting those flagged mails are way more limited.

I'm using New Outlook, Version 1.2023.1129.100 (Production), Client Version 20231201002.03. I can add a limited list of Search folders. Unread email, Flagged for follow-up, Email either unread or flagged for follow-up, Email sent directly to me. Perhaps I'm on an newer version than you.

When I open Quick Steps, my drop down of actions does not have "Pin"... Who stole it? But seriously, what do I do. I use MS365 so it should be up to date.

Great explanation, Darrel, as always! I love the way you make everything simple and useful, using real examples! I've got a question: is that new Outlook from the web or is it the desktop app? Its look is so clean!

Thank you Cassioassilva ☺️. The new Outlook is almost the same as Outlook for the web. The goal is to deliver the same experience. That may seem like a step backwards for some. But it means new features can be shipped to desktop and web at the same time. It opens up more possibilities for web-based add-ins for Outlook.

@@DarrellaaS Great! And I hope both versions become so similar that it makes no difference in using one or another. One thing I think they could make be the same is Tasks and ToDo. There are small differences between them, enough to make me prefer to use Tasks (Outlook desktop version) rather than To Do app. Microsoft could take what makes them useful and incorporate in one unique app.

Doesn't appear to be available on Mac systems. Just another example of how Microsoft punishes those on Mac despite the fact we pay same money for the apps.🙄
