Or at least that's maybe what she thinks as a medical support character so she just doesn't wanna take any chances? Like if you travel to India or Thailand from the west you'll likely have to take a lot of vaccination shots for various illnesses and bacteria that just aren't common in the west. The alternative would be to just have a full air filtration system strapped to your face the entire time, which is basically Juno lol

especially since flourish and inspect mean two different things. In this case, the mythic effect is more like a flourish. Rein, I believe, spins his hammer around... that's flourishing a weapon. Inspecting it would be much more in the line of what Valorant and other games do... where you inspect the weapon.

The amount of anger I get when I hear them say "oh, it was an obvious choice to give it to reaper" is astronomical. Don't get me wrong. The skin looks absolutely badass and awesome as hell, but Ramattra deserved it way more!! It fits with the overwatch lore. It fits with Ramattra's development, because, if u did not know, RAMATTRA WAS ORIGINALLY GOING TO BE ANUBIS WHEN HE WAS IN DEVELOPMENT. Not to mention Ram passing judgment like Anubis does. The staff. And more that I've already listed way to much in other replies and reddit posts. On a side note venture, being an archaeologist and not getting a skin in an egyptian themed battle pass is crazy to me. They were literally in the anubis room in their release trailer that they use as a background in this video. Sometimes the "obvious" choices they make confuses me.

Okay, something that have been bugging me about Reaper-Anubis is not the "Ram was done dirty" things, it's just that the thinking of "Anubis = God of Death = Grim Reaper = Reaper" train of thought kinda annoys me. This might be some big old nerding but this rant is the result of multiple depictions of the god in popular media that tend to do the jackal deity dirty. Of course, mythologies are never fixed in stone, they evolve a lot through people and time, especially with the Egyptians, as their civilization stood for centuries. So I can never say that this depiction is wrong. But I can say that it is a somewhat lazy interpretation. Long story short : it is commonly assumed that Anubis was indeed a god related to death but not an evil one. Yes, like the Grim Reaper, Anubis is a psychopomp, a deity whose role is to bring the souls of the dead to the after-life, but his style is way closer to Charon from Greek Mythology than the spooky scythe wielder. His main role is to accompany the souls in their long journey toward the scales of judgment. But he do not "reap the soul of the dead" so to speak. He is a guide, not an executioner. Heck, even the unworthy souls are not punished by him but by the goddess/monster/bogymen Ammit. As such, Mythic Reaper, as cool as it is, feel like the most basic and cliche vision you could have of the god. It like when you depict Hades as Satan, or any Loas Voodoo as a "spooky evil spirit". These are surface level, sometimes erroneous, interpretations. And at the end, it's just kinda lazy. Now, the skin looks cool as heck, and this is 100% nitpicking. It's not that deep, it's the rule of cool. But I cannot stop myself from thinking that it is kind of a shame still.

5v5 was the worst creative decision to ever happen to this game it simultaneously broke the whole game and divided the whole community. I mean just imagine if we didn't waste all those years' worth of development time trying to make 5v5 work and wasting time on a failed coop mode but instead poured all that sweat and work into making 6v6 the best it could be. fixed all the issues that were plaguing it and balanced the game properly for once because it would have finally had the A team on it instead of the B team who were just trying to keep things together for 2 years until their failed sequel launched.

Who's going to tell Blizzard that Anubis isn't the God of Death? He is the God of Mummification, protector of graves, guide for the dead and the judge of souls so he is closer to Hermes (I said Charon before, but I just learned that even in ancient times he was linked with Hermes since both guided souls to the afterlife) from Greek mythology than to Thanatos or Hades. Osiris is the god of the dead so he could fit better, but in reality in ancient Egypt mythology there wasn't really a popular god of death, there were few gods associated with death like Osiris, Isis, Hathor or Horus who all had some influence over the dead but mostly were either rulling over the dead or helped the dead in their journey but didn't rule over the death itself. There is a mention of a "Death, the great God" in Egyptian mythology but it's a God that most likely never became popular or was "consumed" by other gods and disappeared. Edit: I think it's also important to add that Ancient Egypt lasted for thousands of years, so even though Anubis wasn't the God of the Dead after the old Kingdom era, there is evidence of him being the God of the Dead during and before the old kingdom era, it's extremely hard to talk about such a long period, but the one thing that is fairly consistent throughout the entirety of Ancient Egypt is that Anubis was NOT the God of Death.

Lowkey it feels like they switched the seasons where juno and venture were supposed to come out or something, like the season 10 theme of mirrorwatch wouldve made the most sense to be placed between season 11 and 12's themes, while juno wouldve fit right in with the ultrawatch theme and venture wouldve fit right in with the ancient egypt theme. The only reason you’re calling it a weapon inspect is solely because you can manually trigger it. However animation wise, that is *not* a weapon inspect. Also they didn’t even do the research properly for Egyptian mythology. They depicted Anubis multiple times as the god of “death” when he is the god of funerary rites, embalmment and cemeteries. Ram literally got done dirty because of lack of research. As a Ram main, I demand compensation in the form of them making a Hindu themed battle pass and making a Shiva Mythic skin for Ram. Shiva, the god of destruction. He has the staff, the snake coiling around it, the multiple arms. It’s perfect!

Doesn't Phara already have like two Anubis skins?? Literally a black one called Anubis and a white one called Jackal. Seems weird that we are doubling up on Skin themes here. I mean, sure, Phara's Skins are Epic and this is a Mythic. But really, are they really out of idea's for new skins already that they have to Double and Triple up? Can't wait for the inevitable Illari Ra Skin in that case.... And if you're going to make a Greek skin for Reaper, Charon would be a better fit considering he is stuck between Life and Death. Given the Mexican Mythology of death is Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte, it would be difficult to stuff Gabriel into her shoe's for the sake of a Mythic Skin. Ramattra would likely despise being a cheap copy of Anubis, after all he was freed from the AI Anubis' control and sought a new purpose. Being forced back into a psudo-likeness of Anubis would be the last thing he would want.

She has bounce tech like a couple of other characters (i.e., Doom). You can bounce up on objects, hit with your head the right way for down bounces. If done right, she can also get her second jump in addition to the initial jump off of properly timed bounces. If you need the up/down control for it, it's just a skill issue.

I want multiple "EQUAL" customization options for Mythic skins, not a gradually better one as you buy the levels. In the end itz "ONE" skin, not a skin you choose to customize, you'll just use the last options 90% of the time, when the older Mythic skins had at least 3 equal options that all could be reasonable choices. Now we get 1 skin that gets better and thats it.

Anubis occupied a similar role to Hermes or Charon in Greek Myth, as the one who would deliver souls into the afterlife, whereas the ruler of the dead was Osiris. An Osiris skin would've fit very well with Ramatra but there's nothing wrong with Reaper being Anubis.

Why is Juno releasing with an egyptian theme? she should’ve debuted with the space opera season and venture could’ve debuted with egyptian mythology and the new anubis map. ramattra should’ve released with the invasion storyline, and kiriko could’ve come out with the asian mythology season. i know it doesn’t matter but it’s annoying me!!!

How come all the recent overwatch characters feel so empty in terms of cinematics and lore? Lifeweaver? Pets a deer. Ram? One powerpoint presentation about his dedication to his people. Venture? Who again? These characters need to be more grounded in the story with something to prove they belong there. I don't want to feel imposter syndrome by playing characters the game has added 😭. We have yet to see what Juno will bring in terms of lore and cinematics but I just hope they do her justice since the recent characters have been neglected for some reason.

9:20 I will say, for better or worse, the OW Team has been a lot more confident when it comes to Competitive during Overwatch 2. Them being willing to add new Heroes, maps, and modes into Competitive upon their release shows that the team has become more confident with that side of the game imo. Sorry Flats, but no, it's not a weapon inspect. A weapon inspect is when you hold the weapon up and look at it from different angles to get a better look. A flourish is when you do somethiung fancy with the weapon, like a twirl or a flip. What Reinhardt does with his mythic axe is he flips it over in his hand. Thus, it's a flourish and not a weapon inspect.
