18:20 Plague Bearer's auto to cancel 50% of melee's attacks does not apply to Interceptors since their melee attacks can never be parried. 19:25 That's a seed carrier. Why didn't you Hammerhand, Astral Aim, or extract the seed with the Apothecary's skull? 1:00:45 Not really worth it to delay reinforcements after the last seed extract. You can use the Infinity Gate (Teleport) strategem in these eliminate seed carrier missions at the end. Use it defensively to teleport away from the reinforcement points or offensively closer to one of the gates. Very useful to have that strategem in these missions.
@teelee91332 жыл бұрын
One thing you should remember Odd, is that Interceptors are immune to being parried, it's part of their basic middle node ability, so always feel free to have an interceptor get stuck in with plaguebearers. Also, if you're just planning on teleporting beside someone to hit them, you bypass First Strike, as it activates when an enemy moves into an adjacent space and Teleport ignores the activation of all autos.

Lore drop for power armor to answer your question of "can anybody wear these" For the power armor being worn by your Grey Knights, no. Space Marines are genetically modified super-soldiers with extensive biological and cybernetic enhancements, who are also about 8-ish feet tall. Armor made for them simply would not fit on a normal human, who also would not likely possess the cybernetics needed to properly interface with the armor's systems. There are types of power armor that are designed for the use of unaugmented humans that theoretically could be worn by anyone. However, good luck getting your hands on a suit unless you're a Sister of Battle or a member of the Inquisition (this is probably what Inquisitor Vakir has for armor). Human-sized power armor is generally somewhat less protective than Space Marine armor, and also lacks a bunch of the fancy features that the Space Marines only get to use because of their augmentations. Members of the Adeptus Mechanicus (the super-dieselpunk guys who make all of the things for the Imperium) also get power armor sometimes, though theirs is usually personalized, and often more of a cybernetic enhancement armor than a proper suit that can actually be removed and given to someone else.

No lore drop for tactical dreadnought plate ? :)
@manyheadedmishaps61822 жыл бұрын
@@irbaboon1979 To be perfectly honest, I don't know much about it, but sure. Tactical Dreadnought Armor, frequently referred to as Terminator armor, is primarily used by very old, very well-regarded elite Space Marines, frequently for ship-to-ship boarding actions where there is no cover and no real alternative to standing in the hallway eating the enemy gunfire point-blank in the face. It is among the heaviest and most protective armor available to... well, anyone, short of a full-on armored vehicle. It's arguably tougher than even some of those. It strengthens the wielder to the point where even heavy weapons can be wielded one-handed without limitation, and allows Terminators to make frequent use of Power Fists, though the Grey Knights specifically don't seem terribly fond of those. It is rumored that Terminator armor was originally designed to allow the wearer to perform maintenance on the inside of a fusion reactor while the reactor was running, which would imply that there might be suits around that a normal human (or Mechanicus member) could wear, though I've not seen any evidence of this, and that story of the armor's origin fails to explain why a Space Marine could fit inside, or why his augmetics would be able to interface with the armor.

One of the final 19 artificial organs implanted into a developing space marine is The Black Carapace. It is an all over body network of plugs and nerve bundles. Space marine power armour locks into a marine's nervous system, making their armour more like a second skin than merely a metal suit. Power armour contains strength and speed boosters, chemical stimulant reserves, sensors and other enhancements as well as weighing approximately 400kgs (more than the 300kg marine inside). Without the neural interface of The Black Carapace, even a behemoth like a space marine would struggle to wear it long term let alone be effective in battle. Some space marines feel worse than naked without their power armour, like their skin is missing. The power armour that humans without The Black Carapace wear (that is to say non-Astartes/space marines) does not have any of the strength, speed enhancers, sensors or chemical reserves. It is more like a conventional suit of armour but with power assistance to reduce the feel of its weight on the wearer.
@lthastings88002 жыл бұрын
@@manyheadedmishaps6182 The tactical dreadnought armour is indeed based on the protective suit used in the Dark Age of Technology to maintain reactors. However, keep in mind that it came to an end somewhere around 25th millennium, and the armour have been being altered and fitted for combat ever since. Given that the TDA is based on the old technology, and Mars has suffered a lot during the Heresy, its technology was largely lost and new sets of armour are hardly ever created. I recall that human-suited Terminator armour exists till today but is extremely rare even as Terminator armour goes.

I only finally noticed you have the Warpscourge armour. Warpscourge is an excellent set of terminator armour for a Librarian when you pick one up. The Librarian is basically your "mage" unit and relies on lots of psychic powers to fight, so having armour that prevents the warp surge meter from rising with any of his abilities is a very powerful combo. I personally have mine running warpscourge and he has both his own personal version of Gate of Infinity and a powerful AoE in Vortex of Doom. I'm working him towards Shriek now for heavy stuns and easy executions next.

Davis' 40k Lore Snippets! - Helping you digest the lore of Warhammer 40k, as determined by the video content. Daemons of Chaos (Nurglings) - Joyful and disgusting, these little blights are mischievous and numerous, pouring into reality to aid the Plague Father's minions in their works. Most revoltingly, they spill forth from the guts and boils of Nurgle's most favoured followers. They constantly try to get into every crevice, loosening every bolt, or causing damage and pain wherever they can, giggling as they do so. The merest scratch from them causes incurable infections, and while not dangerous to an armoured Astartes on their own, they usually coalesce into great swarms and groups that can cause great amounts of damage with their numbers. The Machine Spirit - When mankind fell into technological darkness during the Age of Strife, so much knowledge was lost that what remained often became venerated, to the point of superstition. Thus, you are not just cleaning your weapon, you are performing a sacred ritual to appease the spirit of your Storm Bolter, lest it become angry and disobey its orders during a fight (by suffering a gun jam). Of course, such things cannot proceed without holy ointments, burning incense, and lots of flying cyber-cherubs. This insane mix of far-future technology with Dark Age theocracy is a hallmark of the style of Warhammer 40k. Revel in it! Space Marine Enhancements - It's not just your Power Armour, enhanced musculature, and Faith in the Emperor that makes you a Space Marine, but a whole host of other assortments that creates the Trans-human super soldier that you are. Space Marines have nearly twenty additional organs to help make them totally superior to humans, such as a second heart, bonus lung that can breath toxic atmospheres, ability to spit venom, or even being able to read memories of enemies that are, ummm, "digested". The most important of these organs is the Gene-Seed (more specifically called the Progenoid Gland), which gives Space Marines the genetic material necessary to fully activate and integrate the other implanted organs. The Gene-Seed for each Chapter/Legion was created based on that Chapter/Legion's Primarch, and that Primarch's traits often being to find themselves within the new recruit. Rumour has it that the Gene-Seed of the Grey Knights was created directly from the genetic material of the Emperor.

Note the "purity seals cost 1 less green" is a requirement for all the other "purity seals cost 1 less" techs. I agree one less green is not important. One less on all the other ones though could be quite handy. The +50% crit tech is good for boss fights if you have all the 1 AP back on critting auto abilities (I normally take these on the interceptor and the purgator, the justicar has them as well, but has less native crit). It is especially potent if you have the abilitiy to get AP back on crit twice in a round if oyu have the doubling auto ability.

Not sure if you have noticed but the yellow part of the health bar when targeting shows the Crit damage and when you see a yellow skull pop up after a hit it means you landed a crit. @ChristopherOdd **added: I just happened across a pretty neat over-view summary video about the death guard folks that you're fighting in this game: it's at the channel "WesHammer" and the video is titled "Death guard deep dive. The most horrifying legion?" I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but what I've seen so far is good. Some other folks have touched on it too, but yes, you do have to have the super-human conditioning etc to wear the terminator armor and to a lesser extent the regular space marine power armor. I guess technically "normal" people could wear the lighter armor but would be restricted a good bit in it. So all the space marines undergo the super-conditioning so that not only can they wear the regular armor but they can move in it pretty much like they weren't wearing it - running, jumping etc. There are other types of power armor (someone else mentioned the sisters' armor) that are less restrictive/lighter that are worn by some of the others that don't require quite the same physical capabilities to operate in, but they don't provide the same level of protection etc.

Basically Gate of infinity is one of the best Startagems you can use. You can teleport through wide chasms, into glorious melee, away from danger, bypass area hazards, into glorious range ( there is no range penalty for close range dakka, nor opportunity attack). Every disabling crit (melee + astral aim allows you to extract seed) Somone already mentioned Interceptors cannot be parried ,its a class skill. Killing / extracting last seed triggers warp incursions and warp incursions prevents end of combat rearm / ap refill. interceptor is stright OP with ap regenerate build. Regenerate ap from TP is nice but if you take autos have +1 per turn you can refund 2 this way and investing in crit refund will pay off as well as hammerhand is basically free crit. if you score a weapon with righteous perk (chance for + 1 ap per crit) you are golden and with warp charged honour the chapter and quicksilver strat you can (after a 2 crit acttacks) land on like 10 ap. Incarnation of melee. incinerator is a tricky build you have to build a knight (purgator or later purifier) specifically for it. Purifiers can make their incinerators cause knockback, there is equipment that gives more ammo and perks that gives more ammo as well. If you got like 6 ammo on tier 3 incinerator and upgraded flames of purity (1dmg / ammo spent instead of 2) you can deal like 12 dmg in a cone with range similar to most storm bolters' range. Didnt try astral aim yet but i dont know if it can be used with incinerator. For now i recommend to skip this wargear / upgrades entirely. Trivia: Storm bolter is just a name for 2 bolters glued together for double the bullets but massive recoil. Thats why its mostly installed on weighing few tons terminator armour or auxilliary wepon on vehicles.

Incinerators are powerful with the Purifier class. One way to get them into the thick of it and causing massive damage with them is to use the Interceptor to do a swap position teleport. The Flames of Purity can do massive damage when paired with a Tier 3 ammo bonus on the Wargear slot and it also removes mutations. Some Incinerators can upgrade to have a bigger arc which means you can hit large groups that try to spread out. I love using Incinerators

Incinerators work best on Purifiers, but can also work on Purgators too. I have an Incinerator Purgator who I built as a grenadier/support by maxing out all the skills on the right side of the skill tree. With this build, If you are not in range of any enemies yet, you can still chuck tons of grenades and use that skill where you sacrifice all your ammo to buff another knight's ranged attack while you inch closer to the enemies. Of course, once you are in range, you have access to easy AOE damage, or pre-emptively lay down a carpet of flame in front of enemies that are about to warp in. If you can find armor that grants grenade ammo and slots, or armor that gives lots of move speed, or an Incinerator that has upgraded range and/or arc or one with bonus damage against demonic or organic targets, you can do absolute tons of overall damage. Also, they are great on missions where you cannot use WP.

Space marines, like the Grey Knights have cybernetics to allow them to interface with armor, and also great strength to wear heavier armor. There are power armor for normal humans, but without the enhancements of space marines, their power armor is a "water downed" variant for a lack of a better word. Terminator armor or tactical dreadnought plate, is a far heavier version of power armor often used by the elites of a space marine chapter. It is far more protective, and is often used for very hazardous environments, and can support mounting of some heavy weapons. Power armor is generally preferred because they have a lot more of it, and it's far easier to fight in as it doesn't have the same bulk and restrictions as terminator armor. There are other armor variants/addons, 40k lore has no shortage of well... anything.

One interesting potential thing. The interceptor's teleport says that you can swap positions with a Knight, so you might be able to swap with the paladin if the interceptor gets caught out and effectively taunt them all. Not sure if it will really be useful, since you could also just teleport the interceptor out of danger in the first place, but still something to note.

Purifiers with incinerators are pretty great. They have a lot of spread damage but it can harm your knights who are in the cone. They also spec into grenades which we all know you love, even though in this game they aren't all that great. Purifiers can spec into melee weapons which gives them a damage aura and the ability to purge mutations with melee stuff. All in all best paired with a more range focused team and pretty far down on the tier list.

Regarding your terminator armor question: Yep you need to have superhuman strength for terminator armor. They weigh a ton each lol. There are some specialized variants that allow unaugmented inquisitors to wear them but those are weaker terminator armor versions. Power armor requires some augmentations since orders like the sisters of battle and the much stronger sisters of silence wear them as well. They wear smaller variants of the space marine and custodes counter parts, respectively. Inquisitors also wear these specialized power armies regularly

How i view Incinerators: They are basicly a melee weapon with an AOE attached, quite potent for damage or clearing out groups that had no opportunity to spread. Additionally setting up flame hazards is sometimes nice, since you can just throw down a wall of fire, so all enemies that try to get into melee get burned. Downside: Very unprecise and no "precision / Krit" targeting, so i dont think its that good overall.

Women exist all around the 40k universe. There are two in this game (Dominatus Lunete and Inquisitor Vakir). For the most part, there is very little gender bias in the fascist nightmare theocratic state of the Imoerium. Space marines are all male (speculated to be because the Enperor and the primarchs were all male so the geneseed implants are coded to Y chromosomes) where as the Sisters of Battle are all women due to semantics of the Imperial Church being forbidden from directly employing any "men under arms" (but it doesn't say women - loophole!). Other than these organisations, men and women serve and suffer equally across the Empire, in the Imperial Guard, the Ecclesiastes, the Ministratum, the endless hive factories, the gundecks of a strike cruiser never knowing any existence for generations outside the immediate, artificial confines of a starship's cramoed gun quarters, never knowing anything outside carrying, loading and dying in the cold void of space for generation to generation for hundreds if not thousands of years, birthing children just to take your place when you are too old, too frail or too dead to keep loading shells when the red light comes on, a sign from your space marine masters that your god has called on you to do your part to deliver death to his enemies, never knowing who or what they are, only the blinking light, the smell of oil and incense and the itching, burning sensation that has been in your family line for over 150 generations across 3000 years, never knowing anything outside the Baleful Edict's gundeck... So yeah, ehem, lots of women in the 40k universe just not in the ranks of space marines (who are all eunuchs by the way, never having gone through conventional puberty)
