Design-wise, this is the most perfect self defense knife in modern history. A double edge Wharncliffe is the holy grail of knife defense against an attacker.

Yes, love it. A Wharncliffe with a hint of double-edged karambit and no silly ring, makes a huge amount of sense to me. Not being able to employ the back side of both styles is usually a fail. Love the red liners by the way.

Wow this is literally just about the perfect knife. I love wharncliffes, but I also practice Pikal style blade work. This is possibly the best knife ever we will see haha. So glad the first version was a fixed blade… I can see a folderrrr in the futureeeeee haha. As someone who carries a firearm, this for off hand deployment pikal style is super important to me. Well done! Can’t wait to get one! 😂❤️🔥

@@TheKnifeLifeChannel definitely I can’t wait! One thing would be nice too, maybe for future models, a single edge version (one version for pikal, and one version for sabre grip) for those who can only carry a single edge. Lotta states allow ownership, but a few do not allow the CCW of double edge blades. Altho I’m sure this was probably considered… regardless I’m def excited for this!

Looks exactly like a 2012 cold steel Mini Tac Kiridashi knife (A Kiridashi knife is a Japanese utility knife regularly used for woodworking, bamboo crafting, whittling, marking, deburring, pencil sharpening, paper cutting, leathercrafting, etc.), but without a back edge. I love that knife, but after using it for 10 years, I don't think I would like the back edge. With such an acute tip and fine point the back edge would make it impossible to choke up on it to do super fine work that I don't think could be done with any other type of point, and just as awesome as the shape of the blade, the Cold Steel Mini Tac has the best handle as far as shape and feel that I have ever used. I even bought my 2 son's Mini Tac's (Bowie style blade) and it's their favorite knives to hold, and @ $35 it's the best value in a knife that I ever got in 35 years of buying knives. The only thing that I would change on it would be a better quality steel, although I've never had a problem at all with the AUS 8 steel. But I don't use it as a hard use knife, it's more of a super high precision, and fine detail knife, and the sheath that it comes with is pretty nice as well. Because of the false edge/tapering thickness of tip, I'd be interested on how the last inch of blade held up overtime. Otherwise, sweet blade design.

@@TheKnifeLifeChannel the good thing about full tang knives is, the heavier handle saves you from more blade damage when dropping. In general falls handle first.

Interested in this knife, been a fan of reverse edge and double edge, recently pointed towards wharncliffe so this should be pretty capable. I don’t have an instagram so sent an email to Thayne. Hopefully can stay updated upon if/when it makes it into production.
