Beautiful pens. I have the Sakuramochi on order and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. I ordered it when I gave up on finding the Manyo Nuts pen at a reasonable price on eBay. Thanks for showcasing the subtle differences in color. That was very helpful.

These special edition Sailor Pro Gear pens are very expensive. How do you budget for them?

My first few Sailor Pro Gears were secondhand. Then I learned how to buy direct from Japan sites to avoid reseller upcharges. Another “secret” of mine is to buy with Endless Pens under their VIP member (easy and not too expensive to be a VIP, it only requires two purchases no minimum spend). And lastly, during the majority of my fountain pen purchases, my family and I don’t purchase much of anything else. I’m talking clothes, shoes, home decor, toys, entertainment, etc. So I had a lot of fun money. However, we’ve moved back to the USA and it’s *very expensive* to live here, so I already foresee my hobby purchases having to drastically decline 🥲 I’m so open to talk more about budgeting, finances, and consumerism.

The shipping is 🤯 for sure!! I was lucky to have my parents traveling Korea and willing to get the inks for me.

I recently got the Sakuramochi pen from a retailer here in Germany who only had 2 pens available and I was able to snatch one of them… I‘m often not fast enough but this time I was lucky and I also got it with a medium nib which is my preferred nib size with Sailor. I love the pen and inked it with the Sailor Shikiori Miruai ink that was included. I am now waiting for my pre-ordered Sailor KOP Sunlight from the Ocean Floor that I also got with a medium nib and then I will have to save up for any more pens, I think… 😂
