That new formula is super smooth indeed, it's smooth to the point of having so little feedback, that it's hard for me to control the pen, on smooth paper it feels like sliding on a glass coated with liquid machine oil. I'll be writing with Jeststeram L for a couple of refills to see if I can get used to it, but as of now I would prefer the regular Jetstream.

Perhaps this is to resolve the issue with their previous formulation all of a sudden not writing at all. I had several refills which were brand new but did not write AT ALL or stopped writing after some use.

thought this was just me. I love the sleek designs of jetstreams even being quite thin for multipens but then they suddenly stop writing and it sucks especially when I had to pay twice to thrice the price before since these werent available in retail stores locally, so had to get them off private resellers charging for at least twice the price.

As much as I'm a fan of Jetstream great writing experience, I hate how almost every jetstream refill I have ends up streaking and stop writing after 3-4 pages when it still shows a full refill. Any idea why thats a thing? Would love to hear what your thoughts on that or if you have experienced anything like that before because it has happened to a dozen plus refills I have bought.

Try better paper. With low viscosity ballpoint inks loose fibers of cheap paper clog the ball tip module. PS. You don't need to get high grade fountain pen super-smooth paper, regular good quality notebook writing paper and reasonably smooth A-grade copy paper are fine too.

I like the old Jetstream ink. It feels great to write with and it looks (to my eyes) better, more intense and brilliant on most papers than gel pens.

I ordered 4 from the US to the UK, to check what they are like. Awesome Pens would have ordered their stock from Japan, probably. So they've been a long way to land in my hands. They're a pretty significant advance on the original but that doesn't mean better for everyone. The jury is still out, in my case but I'm liking that quiet, understated, body design. I wonder if there is a reason they can't use this ink with a 1.0mm tip?

Picked up two in Tokyo. Where they cost about $1.25. Very nice pen. Smooth writing. With all the pens I tried in Tokyo it’s becoming a blurr 😂 One of the nicest pens I tried was a Blen multi in a 0.7mm. Opted for some regular Blens in colours I haven’t seen before like Mocha.

Is that the 207 vs 307 refill Basically?

​@@unsharpen besides small changes to the barrel appearance, the main difference is the refill. they claim that the 87E version ink is document proof and of higher quality. My own experience is that it also dries quicker and a bit smoother maybe. Also the 207 becomes 207+ with improving the ink quality. My old 207 ink was not good in quality, even after drying the ink didn't stick to the paper and spread if I touch.

I would try this. Looks smooth. Looks crisp. I like what you said about Uni Jetstreams being, “well behaved.” Is there a perfect pen? Searching for it is like searching for the grail. Thanks for the review. The body looks very similar to Zebra Blen range. Do you also feel the same?

Yeah, a bit. It's not quite like the Blen and doesn't have the upgrade features. Most brands have a Blen-like pen now, so I'm just waiting on Uni to release theirs. I'd bet this isn't it

@@unsharpen Would be interesting when Uni finally releases it. From the description of rubberized grip, I thought this was it. Of course, it does have a louder knock compared to Blen. Again I don't have the pen yet in India, but basing my observations on your video.

I recently bought the uni-ball jetstream 3 multi-pen in 1.0mm, and I would say even that pen glides a little too much. Atleast in the 1.0mm variant. Still and amazing pen and im already thinking about picking up the slim version.
