Love your set, seeing you with the distilling aporatus. I just ordered a 10 ml of Chinese Oud. Someone on Fragrantica recomended your KZbin review here. They also mentioned the fragrance blogger Kafkaesque review of Chinese Oud, and highest praise for your creativity in this fragrance.

There is a profound deepness to this perfume that is elusive. Each note is playing hide and go seek and every time I think I find them, they run off again. I love this game. Excellent work as usual. Thank you.

@@areejledoreperfumes very late to follow up 😂. It became my new favorite perfume from your line. The heart of jasmine simmering in brown butter and steeped in vanilla is a mature gourmand. This perfume cost me the most money because it started an exploration into Chinese oud oils (also a new favorite).

Thank you for this. It seems like the wild oud you are using is all vintage. Could you discuss your perspective on using modern wild oud in any of your works? As I understand it, modern wild agarwood is highly endangered so I am curious of the ethics around using it. Do you have a personal policy around using agarwood that is wild and not “new old stock”? Thank you as always for the education and information! -Chris
@areejledoreperfumes3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and for your wonderful question. Well it goes down to the hunters. Actually wild agarwood is far from extinction. There are plenty of trees. However, it is the really old wild trees that nearly extinct. Unfortunately very few hunters are selective and cut old agarwood trees that nearly died. May be because there are not many to be found. In certain regions there are plenty of died agarwood trees that are buried in soil. Those also being harvested. So it is a very complex topic. If we are looking for very high quality wild agarwood it is most likely will be a vintage batches anyway... But to answer your question in short... I do use wild agarwood weather it is an old or a fresh batch.

I hear Thai oud is the highest quality. Is this what we are calling Chinese now?
@areejledorerussia Жыл бұрын
Thai oud from plantation is the most affordable and lowest quality oud available on the market today. Ofcourse price is based on the cost of raw materials. It can be quite expensive and high quality if top class oud chips are used. However most oud oils in Thailand are mass produced from low grade plantation agarwood from below 10 years old trees.

And what about his art, though? This man is an artist. You have to pay for art if you want it. I feel for what you are saying about prices - had I known that Evelyn & Crabtree's Mysore Sandalwood aftershave spray would go for the prices they do know... ...I would have not squandered the stuff! LOL Is it worth a thousand bucks? No. And why can't people make the same thing today? Dunno. I Don't know... But don't worry about non-commoditization (of prices); this is a good thing. It implies genuine product differentiation. And in today's world, THIS is what we need most of all.

Why people drink coffee for instance? It is bitter, sour and too strong! Well... it is an acquired taste. Once you get it... you can't live with out it! Then you discover it's hidden olfactory dimensions and get lost in them full of complete satisfaction and happiness:)
