At the risk of laying it on a bit thick, I wanted to say a new Persolaise video makes my day instantly better. If I’m having a rough day, I’ll sometimes save a new episode for the evening as opposed to diving in right away so as to dangle a treat before myself to keep myself going. So thank you. My only regret is I can’t witness the eternally self-effacing Mr. P. squirming under this gushing praise.

Wow that description of Neroli Nasimba makes me want to smell it that much more. Can't remember the last time I smelled a bone dry neroli. Everything is always so lush and sweet...

The L’Objet fragrances have been available as room sprays/lotions/shower gels/candles etc for many years - they just seem to have bumped up the concentration & turned them into EDP’s. I bought the hand lotion of Bois Sauvage about 5 or 6 years ago in a Selfridges sale when it was 75% off (it was too stupidly expensive to buy at normal prices) & it worked nicely as a body product.

Ooh, that Neroli Nasimba sounds fascinating. I've heard some say its in the same ballpark of Gucci Guilty Absolute, which itself was very polarizing. The L'objet Bois Sauvage sounds interesting too. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I need to track down some samples of these.

Hmmm… Guilty Absolute? I can’t say it made me think of that one. It’s the burnt rocket fuel note that was the key feature of the Gucci, to my mind. But yes, the Crivelli is well worth seeking out. Thanks for watching.

When you wrote that the Crivelli didn't last as well did you mean the longevity on paper or the actual fragrance itself drying down to something unpleasant (woody amber drone etc etc.)?

Good question. I was referring to the longevity. I was really hoping it would last longer, but I want to wear it again at least once before deciding if it is/isn’t sufficiently long-lasting.

@@Persolaise Ah ok, I feel like with a Neroli most people would understand if it did only last about 4-6 hours. Afterall, Neroli Portofino is one of Tom Fords best sellers and that definitely is on the lighter side.

I enjoyed the psychedelic imagery of Haribo bears stirring vats. I pictured beads of molten gelatin on their brows. You referred to a perfumer “signing” a perfume. This use of the word always catches my ear as we don’t refer to creators in other media “signing” their works. (At least, I don’t think so?) Do we know where the term comes from? Did/Does the perfumer actually sign a document to affirm…something?

I don’t think it refers to a specific, concrete act. It’s just an expression. But it may be linked to painters signing their work.

Q does sound pretty pink and girlish to me 😅 non of the resent femenin marketed frags suit me at all even tho I am 29 and and propably belong to the group they try to cater to. I finde myself gravitating to old classics like youth dew, mitsuko and magie noir more and more. (Funny enough no.5 l'eau was a dore opener for me, so Chanel ust be doing something right)
