Tauer Incense Rose is a nice one. Really undergoes a large evolution from spicy orange, to green dewy rose, to dry cold-ish incense

Oh...I think there's a bit of dialog in "Harold & Maude" about her fragrance. Since I own the movie, I'll have to watch it again to see. "Star Wars", released in 1977, pretty much ended the cinematic cynicism of the 1960's and 70's. "American Graffiti" was mentioned...it's also a George Lucas film. I'm old enough to remember these things!

@Persolaise Merry Christmas to all !!! Thank you for all the work and info that you put into your videos. Due to you and a few other "non-influencer" channels I have a decent start on my very modest collection. I ordered samples of some Serge Lutens, Hermes and Guerlain fragrances. Not a bad starting place for a 61 year old guy I guess. Thank you again

The original Signature by MA was beautiful, and I can’t understand why the brand stopped it, as it was a bestseller. However, for those who mourn the loss, Parfum d’Empires Cuir Ottoman is quite similar, plus better 😂.

Omg what are the odds! I've had Tendre Poison ever since ny grandma passed away in 1997, this morning since I saw the one about Vent Vert, which is in the same cabinet, I took both out and I sprayed Tendre Poison on my arm....It changed a bit bit as it was drying down it took me back to my grandma. Now I was looking at my youtube suggestions and this came up!!! Crazy!

Thank you for this. ISM is definitely on my must try list hopefully when I visit Paris next year, along with Tuberose Criminale, they may become my first SLs. The brand has very limited offerings in Australia Poisons are special. The current versions are very weak. I have come across the vintage tendre Poison but didn't know enough about the different Poisons to pick one. I'll definitely consider it.

Their original line-up was one of the best on the designer market. I love Bottega Veneta pour Femme. Knot Eau Absolue is pure genius and Essence Aromatique equally very beautiful and original for something that comes along dressed up like the freshie for summer.

Would be very interested to know more about the state of current formulations in Frédéric Malle. My favorite house, but my trust in this industry is very, very low. I'm not paying 345€ for PoaL or anything else if I'm not getting the real deal. (The whole thing is complicated by the fact that two-year-old batches are still being sold online here or there)

Tauer's greatest has to be PHI - Rose de Kandahar. It's unspeakably beautiful. And unlike the big corporations that are destroying perfumes, this may not always be available, but if it is, you can be sure he didn't water it down. Very much worth the price.

I love your videos, and look forward to catching a stream eventually! That said, and I mean this in the kindest way possible, but would you be able to troubleshoot the audio problems? There's some pretty bad stuttering and distortion right at the start of this, and crackles and pops coming through intermittently throughout. If it was just a one-off thing I'd just ignore it, but it seems to happen on nearly all the streams/VODs. I'm not sure what your streaming setup is, so it's hard to offer any tips or troubleshooting. I'd be happy to help if you like. :)
@Persolaise2 күн бұрын
Thanks very much indeed -- I really appreciate that you've taken the time to write this. The trouble is that I have no way of monitoring the audio and video once the broadcast has started. I'm completely reliant on the live audience to let me know if anything's wrong. I can now hear that the audio at the start of video #2 from yesterday (the one we're commenting on right now) is absolutely awful... but I made absolutely no changes to the set up between videos #1 and #2 (in fact, I didn't touch the equipment between broadcasts) and yet the audio on the first video was much, much better. Weirdly, it was better on video #3 as well. So... I'm a bit clueless as to what's happening. I think a lot depends on how KZbin happens to 'capture' the live stream during each individual broadcast. Having said that, I think I need to do some dummy runs... and maybe use some different USB cables??! Thank you so much for the offer of help. I may take you up on that.

You've inspired me to go hunting for ways to make things better, so thank you! I think I may have found a couple of potential solutions ;-)

@@Persolaise My pleasure! I hope it's something nice and simple, but I also know how illusive audio bugs can be. I stream on another platform, and have many streamer friends, so I'm all too familiar with these little glitches and bugs. :) The audio crackles and stutters here are a little strange, since they're so intermittent. If you are using OBS for your streaming, I would try a test where I do a recording to my computer, and see if the crackles are in there, as well. If they show up in a recording, it narrows down the source of the glitching to either hardware or some settings (although, settings would be strange since it's not happening all the time). If your microphone is a USB mic, the cable is fairly long (2+ meters), and not the best quality, it very well could be getting some interference or dropping signal back to the recording/streaming device. The type of digital glitching and popping does actually sound like digital signal interference or degradation. 🤔 It's a little less common in my experience, but low quality USB cables have caused me headaches in the past. Hopefully that might be an easy fix! :)

ISM also one of my 'forever favorites' - have a bell jar of 20 years old, and two purse flacons of (the vaporisateur tout noir). It's my preferred scent for art gallery/museum visits but I wear it all year round - on occassion, that is. I love the contrast between the warm clove and the cool orris/incense, it always reminds me - oddly perhaps - of Penhaligon's much more prim Bluebell, with a similar playful contrast between hyacinth and cinnamon. It's an Elysian juice, a benchmark, a singular, unforgettable iris.

I wore Tendre poison in my twenties and pretty much all nice perfumes were very floral back then, this one was no exception with a big bunch of white florals ❤ but it never felt grown up or mature for me, I still love it but would no longer wear it now, would go for the elder sister with her dark burgundy bottle 😊

I had the funny experience of entering a Bottega boutique a couple weeks ago and thinking someone in the store had doused themselves in CDG2 Man until I saw the display of this new line and realized it was coming from there. Maybe it's all the vetiver running through the line. I found Alechemie a nice mix of leather and resins but there's no world in which I'd be parting with $450 for any of these! It's sad as Bottega has really been doing stellar on the fashion side of things. I had similarly high expectations and let down from the Dries Van Noten line.

Beautiful was my signature scent time it came out. The formula was changed and now it smells like alcohol and a common cheap dime store perfume. I replaced two bottles thinking had changed from age, but sadly it did not smell the same at all. Are you saying this smells like the Original Scent?? Not just alcohol and vanilla and the cheap weird mix of notes in it now?
