Ive got a bluelab, pricey but its reliable... those cheap alternatives will give you bad readings regularly.

Bluelab all the way over 15 years from the same unit went through many Ph probes Thanks Mr cat

Your ph was so low because the salt solution was high on your hydroponic reading

Salts can be both acidic and basic. There is no inverse relation between electrolyte concentration and pH.

@@gerttopmuller well in my 25 plus years of mixing nutes the average ph of around 7 or so and after mixing in the usually liquid fertilizers the ph always goes down , the more you add the lower it goes .

Salt concentration and pH are not directly related - depends on which salts are in the solution.
