I’ve been using the old alloy x since it came out. Use for inshore, jetties, and surf in so cal. Used it last evening in the surf. Been using since 2021 just Rinse it off and it’s smooth as ever. Looking to pick up this newer version as well.

Is this version of a Piscifun reel saltwater proof? My "saltwater" Piscifun (Viper X, size 4000) jammed after single exposion to salt spray. I opened it. Only the oscillation gear had some grease on. Main gear and main shaft were corroded. I did not find the advertised O-ring. And, the ball bearing unlikely is the SS as described, because it is made from strongly magnetic metal
