small note for anyone who might be tackling this voyage to add: you can bring the forbidden chest down with you to the shrines and store in the mermaid statues for safe keeping. any loot on the ship will still be open to plundering but at least you wont have to start the voyage all over again.

When I did this I was surrounded by lots of ships. So I let my ship sail off into the distance and sink, while I took the chest down with me into every shrine. When I resurfaced I would collect my ship wherever it spawned and sail back to the shrine and collect the chest. Didn't take any of the loot because of this but it worked out just fine for me since I always play this game solo.

Thursday I actually found someone doing the voyage and they were at ancient tears and I had a stronghold keg so I went over to use it but I decided after I saw they were doing the quest to wait until they get back aboard to mess with them until I saw they had the shrouded ghost trinket and then it was no mercy

I was bored a few weeks ago grinding hunters call, so I decided to do shrines for siren gems and decided to go to every shrine and do the journals while I was at it. And surprisingly didn't get attacked at all. It wasn't to bad of a grind in my opinion and I also did the treasury's as well. Now I'm starting work on the gold curse grind and man is it just a lot of sailing all ready hundred percent the first two and they took around 5 hours each

Just remember when going for the gold curse guys, when on tribute peak, all the riddle answers are the same EVERY time, so write them down on your first run through OK. I didn't use the saved checkpoint scheme either, I just ran through it all 5 times. That ticked off all my curses now but I find that I hardly use any of them, I was purely grinding hahaha. I got this curse when it first came out, and I still spite Rare for it. It took five attempts for me before I finished the quest without someone sinking me, and since each shrine is far away, I lost many hours for nothing.

Nope! That's a common misconception actually! You just need to find and read the 30 journals across the shrines. That's it! Now go get that curse!

Tip when doing this: Take the chest with you to the shrine and store it in a mermaid. If someone sinks you, you'll still have the chest and keys and don't need to restart

While I do enjoy how this curse looks I definitely think it (and the gold curse but to a lesser degree) could really benefit from having 3-5 different presets to add some more variety between them. The main reason for me wanting this also is that I think the sunken curse covers too much of the chest and face while not touching the hands like gold or ashen.

Whatever you do don't do journals and mission in one night. Took so long getting the journals with a friend and then when we found out we had to pretty much had to go to 3 opposite corners of the map we nearly gave up. Also that ending....really didn't sit well with us.

Honestly don’t see why I haven’t tried to get it yet, I was fairly active when the siren shrines & coral curse released but seemed like a bit too much running around and a little too far apart from whatever I was trying to achieve at the time, even now I’ve been focusing on hg getting both curses (managed to get ghost and 5 lvls away from skelle), so think this will be my next goal in Sea of Thieves🤔

Definitely one of the easiest curses to get, followed by the Ashen Curse. Both are pretty decent, though Sunken Sorrow is less noobish, most of the time

Granted, doing Heart of Fire three times vs doing Cursed Rogue five times is there, though there is also the factor in Heart of Fire of doing each of the three paths once and finding the journal located on each path vs. Rogue where you can get journals on your first go and then just run through it 4 more times
