It is an absolute pain to get to Norway from the UK, as there are no more ferries. Shipping the car costs basically as much as shipping it to the US, and driving all through Europe where you actually wanna spend your time in Norway is also soul destroying.

Concerning your complaint on the start-stop function of the car, on my 991-4S if i select "sport" mode the start-stop function is disabled. I imagine it will work in the same way on your turbo-S, or is there no "sport-mode" on the turbo?

Turn auto start/stop off in individual mode to use “normal” mode. Then change to sport/sport+ when temps are up. 👍🏻 That eliminates normal mode all together. So first thing you do is change over to individual when you start the car.

The 992 Turbo S, such a masterpiece, i've driven it myself it is incredible! However i just wish they kept the square exhaust for the Turbo/Turbo S as standard sport exhaust and not the round pipes.. The car looks aesthetically better with the square tips in my opinion.

I've no problem with stop-start (it does improve the tested stats, and that does matter for brand averages etc.), but if I know it's going to be a fiddly junction and I might need/want to avoid a stuttery start, I'll switch it into Sport just before, then back into somber old Normal once the fiddliness finishes. Stop-start is disabled in Sport (on the 4S at least). Out and about I'm in Sport all the time but it's a bit wearing around town in general.

In 1976 I was in the 6th grade the new 911 Turbo came out. I remember seeing it for the first time with whale tale on it and a rear window wiper on it. I actually stood there and looked at it as if it was a smokin’ hot substitute teacher. When I became a cop at age 21 I did the Europe tour and visited Porsche Ruf and Gembala. I ended up buying a very clean 911 SC. It just didn’t do it for me. My heart was always set on a Turbo. Finally now that I am retired from the police department I have been blessed with the ability to buy or lease a 2021. (With a rear window wiper) After saving a bag of loot I am choosing to just buy the car. No matter what my payment is going to be $2800 a month. The twist is I just sold my wife’s Audi out from under her. This car is going to be her semi daily driver. The gift to her for putting up with my career choice of 30 years! Thanks God!

As you know James I am a regular and subscriber to your great cartube channel. But I feel like putting something back into the online car enthusiast community, and not be typically critical! I feel like throwing a big nugget in here to all cartubers, as I’ve not seen any of you run with it so far? Never in the History of the Automobile, in this Cov-19 Pandemic year, or never in my lifetime, I was born in 1965, has the Car become much more important to us all, other than just a means of transportation!! Many of us have been forced to live within the small boundaries of our houses and homes. Our cars are the PERFECT means with which we can all still safely go out and live somewhat during this time! With our Car’s inherent “safety cocoon”!! I am sure it has been more than just commuting, they are directly keeping us all sane, more healthy, contributing to our overall mental health and most importantly making us all feel more optimistic about our Post-Pandemic lives!!!! In my eyes, this has been the YEAR OF THE CAR!!!! I should mention this as well. I am sure many of us here know of the inevitability of a financial recession happening world wide now. And many, many large and small companies going broke. Many larger companies crying they’ve had the worst sales this year in their short histories, ie Car Manufacturers. BUT! I am sure I am not alone in noticing this right now! Who knows of a family member or friend, that has bought a new or even brand new car this year? For me, 2 neighbors have bought brand new cars, my niece bought a brand new SUV this year, and I have seen more trailers with old cars ontop than ever before in my street!!!! I have even added an old classic car to my Dream Garage Collection this year!! I personally think we are all buying MORE cars this year then I can remember…No matter what the media is telling us all about, with our inevitable recession, and no one having any money to spend. In short..It really is the YEAR OF THE CAR!!!! My 2 cents. I’ve put forward this year to our online car enthusiast community. And thank you, if you’ve read my longish comment this far and for the couple of minutes of your time!

9:36 Welcome to Bridge of Allan, my home town! I'll keep an eye out for some more exotic cars around about, there is a black 599 (maybe GTO) that lives around here. If you see a black 435d (tuned with a short plate) in the area giving you a flash that'll be me. If you're interested in doing any socially-distanced fan meet-ups or drives I'll keep an eye on your Instagram. The Dukes Pass from Aberfoyle to Callander is another great road albeit tighter and twistier. I'd advise to go during the week as cyclists hold up traffic and don't really give you any chances to overtake on weekends - part of my usual weekend drive.
