They look great Andy, biggest critique I’ve heard of the new blood angels is the missing upgrade parts to make them fancy enough to be blood angels, and I think this is a great solution, certainly like the wings.

Man, what an awesome model. Your paint job is superb. He looks glorious with those wings. A true descendant of the Blood Angels chapter. I wish they'd kept the wings on the Sanguinary Guard, but fortunately I have a bunch from an extra kit I got a long while ago. Wings are a must for these guys and making yours red is a fantastic idea.

The Fleshtearers Death Company is mentioned in at least one book, don’t remember the name, but Seth sends them out at the end to board and kill some imperial agents, its mentioned they will kill everyone incuding each other untill no one is left alive.

Oh I was also going to say good tutorial quick and effective. I have actually decided I'm going to take on the task of painting my army as best as I can with my ability. Full primaris army, edge highlights and everything. It's not going to be quick but it will be a labour of love for sure.

Ive heard in various lore videos that the flesh tearers have one of the largest death companies, and they tend to not use them as suicidal shock troops, but simply as line troops… as long as civilians or allies aren’t terribly close by. The lamenters on the other hand reportedly have one of the smallest DC.

The crossed are called saltires, and unfortunately all blood angel successors have death companies. Somebody told me there's even one use bone colours for their death company

I've only built two models from the box so far. Got all the Death Company Marines and Dread to go. I have used some.shpulder pads to finish off my second 5 Jump Intercessors and will dig through what's left of 3 boxes of the old Death Company squad for shoulder pads.

Looks great. I'm an advanced painter, and probably like you, I can't just copy the photos. My BA chapter has black armor, the DC only being marked out by iconography. The Sanguard are dark bronze. I really like black templar over leadbelcher. Thats an excellent idea.

Ah, the Flesh Tearers. A chapter that is perpetually one bad week away from becoming a Khornate warband. But hey, that right there is why we love those blood thirsty monsters. And these look every bit like the driven mad angels that they are. Lore wise: all Blood Angels successors have a kind of Death Company. Chapters might implement it differently, but they all have it. Even the Lamenters, who had to implement one in the middle of a penitent crusade. The Flesh Tearers certainly have a Death Company and probably a sizeable one too.

Fantastic in every way. The wings look outstanding, but I prefer the wings for important models like sergeants and up. I feel having full squads of marines with wings cheapens the effect they have on those higher ranked models

I always assumed Flesh Tearers had them, same as other chapters, but i do know Astorath is not allowed to execute any Flesh Tearers ever, so they might just not get the fyll DC gear. As far as wether i agree with you on the wings, i don't see how i could disagree. It is an absolute objective fact that your prefer your models with wings, therefore they should absolutely have wings. I really like what all that extra red did for the composition.

Deathcompany are marines that paint there own equipment black so the most will have no wings. but if you like them with wings go for it

What about keeping the head as a sub assembly then doing a final drybrush on the hair of either 50/50 karak stone and gold or just a gold? Also maybe a grey with a sliver highlight for the neck and joint ribbing to contrast a bit with the black armor? Also if you hated yourself and also wanted to do a two stage highlight on all the feathers maybe start with a gal vorbac red or possibly an unwashed layer of flesh tearers red before moving up to a khorn red.
