I also think (even though the vintage guide show the sword as one solid color) that he missed some blood dripping from the Captians Sword. Thoughts on this ? I think there's two visible blood drippings on the front of the sword & one on the back. Maybe GW didn't want to paint it to violent but they molded dripping blood in case someone wanted some blood dripping? Any thoughts?

There's something really, really cool to me about the captain having that unique, metallic sheen to his armor; not to mention how the fancy gold is reserved for him, too. I feel like that sort of distinction is missing from modern 40K - now _everyone_ is decked out with gold highlights and the like.

Army Painter Goblin Green does have pretty good coverage but like with most AP paints you need to shake it to hell and back, and once you think you've shaken it all that is possible - shake it some more. Paint agitators are a must in every AP bottle. If you threat every new AP paint like you're bringing it back from the dead you won't got far wrong.

The video was an insight, the style and narration was relaxed and easy to listen to, what is not to like! I admit , it wouldn't surprise me if the narration was added after. No one could be so calm while painting, blobbing, and fixing and narrating at the same time. I'd say the Army Painter metalic set would best replicate the old metalics if you just don't happen to have 30 year old paints sitting around. Its got a emerald green similar to this, and the gold looks very close to its corrupted gold which has that bit of green tinge to it like the pot here has

This is what I love about KZbin: a couple of months ago I didn't know anything about Warhammer, I saw some comments that were "Praising the Omnissiah" and got sucked in, even though I don't play it. And now, after crunching a bunch of videos I'm here, never hold a paint brush in my hand, mesmerized by how the different colors and passes come together to create beautiful miniatures: I mean, that Captain is so good it makes me want to bite it too see if it tastes as good as it looks! I bought a pot of agrellan earth recently from a friendly local gaming store and the paint was so dry and thick I thought it was like their dry paints range at first, nearly impossible to spread on the base. I then bought another pot and the second one was more of a thick base paint consistency. They really are no good at staying sealed are they.. I did manage to fix the first pot with some water though, a bit of water in there and stir the crap out of it with a wooden skewer . I overdid it with the water and made it thinner than intended but you know what? It actually works even better when thinned down like that, I got bigger cracks that way and it was easier to paint on in a thick layer.

A fine glass of single malt speyside scotch and 30.15 mins of midwinter minis vid is the perfect way to spend sunday evening's prevening! Angels of death codex? got mine right here as I watch! god this tutorial made me rather dewy eyed with nostalgia! I've been a follower of your work for some time now, but sadly must admit that I can't remember commenting till now and for that i can only apologise. based on your dkok you did a few days ago, Seems that you and I are +/- the same age (I have a year on you, methinks) and it also seems we share the exact same level of nostalgia for second and early third edition GW! Your use of white ink instead of white acrylic paint has improved my painting vastly, don't know how I lived without that handy tip all these years. Its occured to me that I have a similar range of old 90's and 80's paint so If there's any vintages you're in need of or not sure if you have, give me a shout and I'll have a look. would be happy to donate to such a fellow avid nostagia-freak! thanks again, Guy! Matt.

Gosh Guy, I love your videos so much. And that's coming from a qualified filmmaker that has loved the Warhammer hobby since I discovered my first "white dwarf" magazine during the mid to late 00s. Your tips and tricks are always well explained, your videos easy to follow for noobs, but still fun for veterans, and always motivates me to delve deeper into the hobby. Also sending my best to Penny, baby and doggo.

This video is like a well made espresso, rich flavoured and enjoyed whilst relaxing. Brings joy to ur day and reminds you of good times. You are very just in being proud of these. This episode made me so happy it was relaxing to watch and had me smiling thru the whole thing. dark angles have always held a special place in my heart and seeing them come back to life from the past was a treat. From a technical standpoint. The pacing was spot on. Narration was great, with a lovely spattering of humour and tips. The sound track, well we all love ur soundtracks. Thanks for making this.

Oh my, those are absolutely glorious Guy! Dark Angels were my first Space Marine army and right out of that 2nd ed starter box too! Although I had to approximate the colours because I only had the starter paint set that I got at the same time with the store opening offer. But I remember being sat at my little painting table by my bedroom window in my childhood home and being awfully proud of my colour matching skills mixing the Goblin Green with Chaos Black and a little touch of Enchanted Blue and getting a fairly good (to my young and inexperienced eyes) "Dark Angel Green" when comparing it to the painting guide and colour images. Oooh the nostalgia pangs are strong with this one! Thank you for that happy little memory you brought back :) Keep on being awesome and take care ;)
