Actually rainbows are caused by refraction not reflection and physics student actually did presentation to his class about how a sonic rainboom works (the assignment was for students to explain scientifically using physics how cartoon physics works). Basically RD is flying so fast she hits light particles hard enough to cause refraction on contact. The rainbow trail behind her is probably a motion blur though.

It may (or may not) please you to know that I've been learning about contrails recently in my physics degree (those clouds that appear behind planes and occasionally wind turbines). They're caused by vortexes in cool/wet air trapping moisture and condensing it into little droplets, to put it simply. So, if rainbowdash uses her wings in kind of a circular motion like a bee, and flies at high altitudes or in high humidity, then the water droplets are condensed from the moisture in the air! No piss needed.

The water droplets that form the sonic rainboom are obviously the _vapor cone_ that forms as a result of the pressure wave around Rainbow Dash's when she flies at transonic velocity. This is a well-known phenomenon that occurs when things break the sound barrier. Either that, or Rainbow sweats, like, _a lot_

A sonic boom is a shockwave that results from something moving faster than the speed of sound through the air, because of this rapid and powerful compression water vapor in said air can be condensed out like squeezing water from a sponge. Look up some pictures of jets breaking the sound barrier and you can see an actual cone shaped cloud form in the shape of the shockwave. So yeah...water droplets formed by something breaking the sound barrier...
