This project that arose in a Costa Brava rally was not in the plans although it had been in my head for a long time, because it is a project that I love. It is true that my intention for 2024 was to finish topics and make others come true that I have been pursuing for years. And this was not on any list, well it was only on one, that of distant wishes... and it was fulfilled. They say that he who seeks finds, very true. When I start searching, sooner or later I find it and the adrenaline is released in such a way that it is very difficult to stop the impulses. When I saw the ad and the price, everything fit but the first thing I did was ask for more pictures since the ad didn't show everything I needed to see. Later, the definitive idea of the project arose in the Costa Brava rally: to make a legacy gr.A rally. I spoke with my friend Rober and figured out what I was missing: engine and gearbox. Made! ej207 sti engine and gc8 5v box. The only thing missing is the wiring issue that will be solved with the link control unit and the necessary wiring for the rally version. Said and done, everything square, it's time to go get the car. As lately I have had very complicated days with the assembly of the rally gc8, I prepared it for a Thursday during the week and an express trip from "ave" and return by car if everything went well! When he arrived with the owner, he was not in favor of recording for the channel, he preferred not to and logically it had to be respected. I begin to study the car calmly and I begin to find out little problems that were not seen in the photos. It doesn't matter, it can be solved or I don't need it for the rally car. I start the return trip and test the car: 2nd speed doesn't engage, a driveshaft sounds a lot and something else down there. Although at no time do I doubt that I will be able to make the 700km back home. And when I want to test the speed it develops a little, there is no problem and everything responds well. Very moderate consumption and the truth is that the ride comfort is not bad at all for a 32-year-old car. It's a shame to dismantle everything to make it a competition, but that's the purpose.
After a few kilometers I manage to get home and well, it really needs a big overhaul of many things but it won't make sense to spend money on the car. What I need is to finish the gc8 project to start with this one, at the moment I am looking for parts that I will need and at the moment it looks very bad, I can't find anything. But this will be part of another video.
At the moment, my "fifth element" is already at home and we will start the project when appropriate, although I admit that I already have almost everything in my head!

Hola Maximiliano! Verdad que lo he pensado, una unidad en tan buen estado pero también es cierto que se queda corto de motor para dejarlo tal cual de serie..me hace mucha ilusión prepararlo de carreras, ya verás como queda! Y todas las piezas de calle que no necesite las vender a precio muy contenido para quien pueda necesitar y así mejorar su coche de calle! Muchas gracias por tu comentario!! 👍
