Adipoli...living the dream :) Ente oru (mandan) theory parakaram, naattil irangiya RD had only the following design flaws - koppu airbox and stupid air filter works for other places, but nammade dusty conditions no - proper fuel filter venam, for our thotti fuel quality - stock indicators, hard mounted, are fine for 'their' roads, but nammade potholes.. IMHO every new new RD started having troubles because of the crappy air box/filter arrangement and bad fuel filtering. The carbs started getting opened and cleaned way too often - that's assuming proper debugging, and many mechanics would have started fingering the points also to 'fix' the problem. One way or the other, carbs started loosing their tolerances, and then the points followed suit. In an ideal world, any new RD rolled out of our showrooms would have worked/lasted like any another other bike if 1. the air filter was fixed (somehow), and 2. good quality fuel filters were used Sorry for the ramblings...nice video, thanks!

Very true, this bike was a hit everywhere but not in India, mostly because of the dusty conditions, terrible fuel quality and lack of knowledge among mechanics . I still remember one mechanic arguing how have separate carbs was a terrible idea. Most of the mechanics were just monkeys with wrenching knowledge, no concept of how things work. Simple things like setting Enfield bullet carbs to a perfect idle made mechanics famous in India 😆

Short answer is yes, I have never done it and it’s not a common modification. You can buy a shaolin bottom half engine and do the modification. They are really cheap so it won’t burn a hole in your pocket

About that U tube: I remember one theory that U tube is a bad idea because it might hide any imbalance between the two carbs. God knows if it's some theoretical crap or actual practical wisdom!

Technically a power box setup should work on papers, the tube connection can cause misfires. No performance gains provided everything is working as it should
