My buddy had the old ones and bought the new ones and we both noticed his mic was slightly more muffled too, I still rock the old ones, they’re amazing audio quality but for the price I paid I wish the mic audio was better

Its meant to be used on a Playstation 3/4 the mic quality is way better if you plug it in the console and not pc.

They are cheaper made than the original. The new headset has issues with the driver that the old set didnt have. It drops connection all the time. I am thoroughly unimpressed with it, and im actually angry i can't get original golds anymore. The only thing better about the new gold, is that it fits over the psvr headset much better.

Finally thankyou!!! I never owned the classic gold one, but litterly almost everyone i knew did. My bestfriend got the og gold one for Christmas when we were younger, now that we're older and have our own jobs we decided to both upgrade. He got the new metal platinum headset and i decided to get a gold headset, lmfao i was like "the fuck is that cheap looking hunk of plastic?" The older ones felt heavy and well made and great quality. So now you're telling me i can't buy the classic ones anymore...and i have to pay more for something i don't even want and feels and looks cheaper, and also isn't an improvement just the same or worse🙄. Luckily one of my friends stopped gaming a long time ago but kept his so im buying it off him some time soon. I just came here to see if my suspicions were correct and they were.

I take care of my stuff and my gold ps headset started flaking just like his. I got mine back in 2015 on black Friday for 40 bucks. Great deal! Never had an issue with the hinges. Also, great sound quality imo.

I'm on my second gold headset across 4 years. I think I've got a large head because mine both have met the same fate of cracking and snapping in the middle of the head band. I've taped my current ones back up and they are still kicking.

My old gold still looks new and no problems. What are you doing to yours? The padding is all torn. Dang dude you either need to be easier on the equipment or wear a sweat band cause you tore that set up.

Usually due to heat, friction in what not. If you live in a cooler climate I guess it wouldn't be such an issue vs a dryer/hotter one.

I had the old version but since then I invested a bit in headphones for gaming and got a HIFIMAN 400I with a boom mic and will never buy another gaming headset. people that dont want to spend €200-300 IN A HEADSET can still get a boom mic with a decent headphone of there liking and still surpass any gaming headset. oh and for a bit more you can be wireless as well

This headset is showing me an echo sound while im streaming on PS4 and if I adjust the microphone level all the way down the echo sound disappear and i can start listen to my game audio normally although I can’t talk to the chat on my stream cuz they can’t hear me how do i fix it ... and I noticed that on the left speaker of this PS4 golden headset is that the game audio is catching the microphone from the left headset so it will make that echo sound on my stream

I have bought the new set to replace the old version, as far as sound and mic it is exactly the same, the new version has a problem though with the mic distorting, but otherwise it’s the exact same shit as the last one.

I wondered this also. I’ve ended up grabbing these new Gold’s and I’m impressed, the design is sleek and I prefer the look of these compared to the Platinum’s. The difference is mainly the sound being better on the Platinum’s I assume. 50mm driver’s rather than 40mm, and the 3D audio. Oh and £60 extra cost lol. Not many games support the 3D audio though. If more games did I probs would of gone for the Platinum’s. The Gold’s sound amazing to me so I’m intrigued to see how much better the Platinum one’s are. I mainly use mine when playing online with friends so opted to save the £60. Though these being the first proper headset I’ve bought for gaming and being so impressed, I prefer wearing these than actually having the sound blast from my 5.1 setup.

man i regret buying a new pair of these gold. The sound is not as crisp, the padding is not as good and its wireless receiver is not as strong. I still kept my old pair even though I have it tapped up pretty good because of all the plastic that cracked but they still work and use the new designed ones only when my old pairs battery gets low. Pretty bad Sony when your old pair is that much better in just about every department.

hey so ive had my original gold headset for 1 year now and its in great condition no rips or wear and tear, however i just want to know about the comfor on the new ones.. the original ones i can play fine with 1hour without any pain from the ear cuffs but anything after that i feel like i need to take them off and take a break before putting it back on.. is the comfort on the new ones drastically different or should i save the money and keep using the old ones because they work just fine.
