I needed more light on Psylocke on that last shot. Camera has me sucking up all the light, making her look darker than she is… as you can tell by the close ups & pics 💎

True, you did…BUT…I hate her skin paint. Others have said that it looks like stone rather than skin and they hit the nail on the head. Even with the night shadow theory, no human’s skin is that color, I don’t care what time of day/night it is. Now that that’s out of the way, everything else CRUSHES XM. The portrait, the pose, the shash, all of it. Love it! I so just wish the complexion paint was changed. Bitter sweet

@@Dyon_Cole_QuietStorm 100% agree. The skin tone doesn't look human in any kind of light. There is no way it makes sense. I already think that painting black on the clothes to "fake" shadows is dumb, but this grey ash skin tone is just next level absurd. I have it in person, unit 0691, and I am immensely disappointed.

Gem, you did it again man. Amazing unboxing and video. You know, I think this piece would look killer alongside the Wolverine statue by XM. I'm talking the brown suit one where he's lunging from the Japanese style roof. I know that piece is wildly oversized but position the Psylocke statue with it at just the right angle and that forced perspective base might bring it all together. But yeah, this is a very nice statue. Loving the portrait and I really dig the small footprint of the base. It'll make displaying her quite easy.

Been interested in seeing how this one came out. Her portrait looks great too which is always a hit or miss with female portraits. Still not sure how I feel about the perspective pieces but it does look pretty cool.

Kind of wish they made a cover to cover the hole from the base. I don’t like the what forced perspective base. She’s also a little dark on the skin color but the sculpt is phenomenal. If she goes for a discount, may get her.

Not a huge Psylocke fan but it is a great piece. They give her black hair and a red costume and it is a fantastic Electra statue! I would have rather had that...sniff...sniff.

I just got mine in and she is awesome. Believe it or not it was the force perspective background that made it pop out to me. If it wasn't for that moon and building background I wouldn't have been as excited about the statues. Don't get me wrong the pose and portrait of Psylock is beautifully done but to me that background is really impressive. Some may be worried about the skin tone being darker but that's because they are not seeing the piece for what it's supposed to be. It is night time and the only light you see is from the moon and the lamp post so of course she would be darker. Love the simplicity of this piece. Someone has just thrown some deadly stars at her and now she is eather about to draw her sword or has just decided to turn on her psionic weapon. Really love this piece and so glad I got mine. Congratulations on getting yours and for sharing.

@@Pwasercan sorry that you don't like it. I guess it's not for everyone. I would agree with what you said about the paint job if the moon in the background would light up also. Then they could have just painted her a lighter color with the light up moon giving her the hugh needed. So instead of the light up moon they went with the darker tones to mimic the effect in the regular light setting. Really sorry that you didn't like it.

@@Pwasercan yea I understand. She is beautifully sculpted. When I bought the Jean Grey into Phoenix statue I was worried about the 1/5 scale because I only collect 1/4. Luckily they over scaled it by .5 making it 1/5.5. So it doesn't look bad next to a 1/4 piece next to it. I got lucky this time but won't be doing that again. Wish you all the best with whichever route you choose to go with.

Grabbed her off seconds with a coupon just last night, great price. I plan to pair her with the Wolverine Ronin statue Sideshow has coming out later this year. Seems like a good pairing. Psylocke's portrait looks absolutely beautiful. Love the purple tinted eyes and purple hair highlights. I actually like the perspective base with the moon in the background, to me it frames Psylocke in the foreground very well. Overall this piece is incredible. My only nitpick is why do the darker skin tone? Folks aren't displaying statues in a dark room where you can't see the pieces, that was a bit of a head scratching decision. However, with the proper lighting it seems like the darker tone isn't as noticeable.

Oh so nice, another perspective base, I absolutely love it, love this statue. I’ve no idea how anyone dislikes those perspective bases, they look incredible, I’ve no clue why someone wouldn’t display that part of the statue. Sideshow can do absolutely no wrong at the moment, it’s just banger after banger, they’re doing incredible work at the moment.

not sure if the moon works. When you look at it just right it looks ok but if you look at it from different angles it doesnt work. If there was a way to just remove the moon it would be a nice option.

XM needs to hire whoever does the female portraits for Sideshow, because they do an incredible job on their female portraits. Absolutely beautiful and the face always has life, whereas XM have lifeless female portraits.

That's up for debate. Sideshow should share their designers, and XM should share their production houses, because the execution of Sideshows excellent designs gets overshadowed by bad production and quality control.

nice video, thanks! This is the complaint I filed after receiving my preorder: the skin tone is like a brown-grey-black thing, that doesn't even look human, the closest would be Indian skin tone. It does not look so black in the pictures on the website, so I feel like I got a false promise on my preorder. I can tell that there is very bright lighting on the website pictures, but still, the tone is much brighter and brown, than the ash black skin I received. Also, the right arm has a small dent where the skin is is chipped off on the forearm. The eyes are looking too far up, the pupil is partially inside the upper eyelid, there's no angle from which she's looking at me. A piece of grass not glued properly (arrived separated from the base), and a piece of the pink magic material of her right arm was not glued properly (arrived separated from the arm). Also, I completely disliked the perspective background, and I removed it, thanks for the option, but now i have a hole in the back of the base, why is there no additional piece to cover that up? Why did you give us an incomplete display alternative?
