No one really talks about this, but when having kids and a puppy. Most talk about making sure the dog has boundaries with the kids, but it’s also important to make sure the kids know there boundaries with dogs. This is for anyone with kids and a puppy, or dog. My one dog doesn’t like kids, due to him having trauma as a rescue dog. But my other likes them, but definitely more skittish after a toddler pulled his ears.

We love raw feeding. You can do both. We do some meals raw and some with freeze dried and kibble. Just do the best your budget can handle. Plus don’t over do it on vaccines. I love Dr Becker on KZbin.

I recommend the website sniff and bark for when he gets older. They sell harnesses, poop bag holders, collars, small bows, leashes and bandanas. But the special thing about them are that on the harnesses they have you’re dogs name and you’re phone number on the clip. They are little expensive but it’s worth it.

Hey! If you use kibble it is totally fine! Raw can become really expensive so way to still be healthy while keeping the cost low is adding bone broth or raw goats milk on top of his food plus fish oil. We use 4Health kibble and we get it from Tractor Supply.

Yes! Roll up rugs. Wish I did... my puppy used my kitchen rugs as her puppy pads 😣 Had to throw them all out. We also have wood floors. I now put puppy pads but she thinks it’s a toy for her to shred 🙄 I bought the same training treats for my puppy, she loves them! My favorite part was all those cute bins to put toys away or dog things. Check Home Goods there are some cute ones!

When I was potty training my puppy I bought a spray from petsmart it's like 20.00 bucks so you spray it where you want the puppy to use the bathroom and they automatically sniff that and that is where they do it I would recommend one area so they get used to it and they always just go potty at that place

Love this video!! I remember the pure excitement and joy of getting a new puppy! I’m actually a vet student and food, I’d recommend Hill’s, Purina pro plan or royal canin! They’re the top 3 foods with the most scientific research behind their product formulations to insure your pet gets all its nutrients that it needs. Often times other pet food brands focus all their money on advertising and marketing, instead spending that money on putting their foods through clinical trials. If you choose to go raw, consider consulting with a board certified veterinary nutritionist to formulate a meal plan that will give your pet all their essential nutrients. Also make sure you buy from a reputable source to avoid salmonella poisoning! Enjoy the new puppy!!! :)

Looks like you're putting a ton of research into the pup :) my biggest recommendation is too avoid dog parks even when older, they are known to cause aggression in dogs, soread of doggy diseases, and promote reactivity when you come across other leashed dogs in walks cause they can't say hi freely

I've heard Acana is a good dog food brand (I don't use it because it is imported as I live in South Africa so its way out of my budget but it should be more affordable for you in the US) 💖 I'm using a South African brand. The best kibble has mainly pure meat or meat by products and look for one that includes some fish oil or fish ingredients because rhat helps keep their coat soft and shiny

We feed my new puppy Winston raw food. If its too complicated for you you should try freeze-dried raw, which is kibble but much much healthier. That i think is the best opion. Hope it helps!

Hi! Love the vid! Cannot wait to meet your little guy! I also have a puppy named Luna who is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! She is a lot of work but very well worth it. I would suggest that you actually use a sheet or a couch cover (can be found on Amazon) instead of a blanket because cleaning up a possible accident or mesh from the puppy would be much easier with a sheet or couch cover (they are waterproof and easier to wash). I also highly recommend feeding a raw/fresh diet to your puppy. Even though some raw/fresh food brands can get expensive you will save much more money on vet bills as your little pup will be much for happier and healthier (btw there are lots of websites and books where you can learn more about raw). I feed Luna a brand called Carna4 which is much cheaper than raw but still gives all the same benefits as raw to your dog! One last thing, follow Dr. Jean Dodds vaccination protocol, too many vaccinations actually cause things like cancer in dogs due to the ingredients in them. Sorry for the long comment. Cannot wait to see Sunny, I also love cockapoos!

Just got a mini dachshund and definitely recommend rolling up the rugs! Also do not recommend puppy pads, it confuses them making them think its okay to go in the house and can end up making potty training even harder. Totally agree with waiting on treats too because you never know what they will like! When it comes to food just do not get grain free, because it has been causing enlarged hearts in dogs and cats, unless your pup has some medical reason for it. Pawtree is our favorite and what we feed our frenchie and mini dachshund!

I'm from Canada and feed my puppy ACANA Puppy Large Breed food (kibble). He also gets the ACANA Puppy Bone Broth (wet). It is made in Canada. All natural, no additives, preservatives etc. Very high quality ingredients & very expensive. He loves it. I also buy SuperCan Bully Sticks Variety Pack from Amazon. Be careful with the Kong toy! My dog had one, but it grew mold on the inside because it’s basically impossible to completely clean the inside, and even if you do it’s also impossible to completely dry the inside. I (obviously) threw mine out and am going to purchase some West Paw toys that are a similar idea as the Kong. Also I highly highly recommend finding a trainer near you! Even if you already know how to train a puppy, training classes are great for socialization and exposure; not to mention fun. Another tip, (sorry for all the tips) tethering is such a great way to make sure pup stays out of trouble, and teaches independence. I like to ether puppies to me with a hands-free leash, or use a regular leash to tether to refrigerator handles or chair legs. Sounds weird but it totally works and pup gets to get used to hearing the sounds of daily life without being secluded to a separate room. Good luck with your pup! Puppyhood is so hard but so worth it. ❤️ One last tip: don’t listen to Rachel Fusaro 😉

I had to consult my vet about my dogs food because he had been getting sores and bumps on him due to allergies to all meat types and have special food since he in a purebred lab he has more difficulty in his health and if anything happens go to the vet no matter what, it saved my dog from a alergy attack from steak so it’s kinda hard but I think your food looks ok!

i would recommend buying super cheap rugs and just put it in place of where your rugs are now only because the liquid itself isn’t good for your floors so if you buy cheap rugs you can just wash them or throw them away instead of your nice rugs and if your consistent with potty training they should learn quick my 12 week old puppy is already walking down the stairs and barking when he needs to use the bathroom

you can feed your dog kibble, just make sure it has no by product in it, or meal (you can do meal just make sure it not the first ingredient). you want the first ingredient to be meat and you want no preservatives. i would add some fruits and veggies to it, some fruits that dogs can have are: Apples. Apples are filled with fiber, Vitamin A, and C. omega-3 and 6, antitoxins, flavonoids, and polyphenols. (just don't feed them the seeds), blueberries, they are packed with lots of antitoxins. and Blackberries, they are filled with antitoxins, polyphenols, tannin, fiber, manganese, folate, omega-3, and they are high in Vitamins A, K, E, C. (three would be good) also you can feed them a raw egg, with the shell some good vegies are: carrots, a good source of Vitamins A, C, K. and has good effects on the immune system, and eyesight. Antitoxins, potassium. (make sure to cut in small pieces if your dog is small so they don’t choke. You can also boil). (don’t feed too much Broccoli only 5% of meal should be Broccoli can cause a lot of gas). coconut oil is good for the coat. that's what I've researched, a good one that ill be getting is heritage ranch but ill be adding fruits and veggies with my meal. hoped this helped a little!

Hi! I’m an animal science major in college and I recommend trying the hills natural diet, RAWZ brand, instinct raw or a semi raw diet mixed with kibble :) super good for your dog to get all the different vitamins and nutrients from different foods and produce. Congrats on the adorable puppy!!

You should feed raw food. Kibble doesn't provid much nutrients and is made from meat leftovers. Raw food provides firm stools, shiny coats,s and better health in general. This is the way to go...
