My friend Angela Clark from ‪@ClarkFineArt‬ was generous enough to send me some samples of the new colors that QoR just came out with, along with some of the older colors that I didn't already have in my collection. Let's play with them today!

Love it! I loved both pieces but the colors in your sunflower 🌻 amazing! Those if I am recalling are all Lightfast 1 so excellent. Glad you enjoyed so many of them! If you are interested in that turquoise, before you order others cross check the Ali Cavanaugh set it also includes more from the new colors as well. I am not in the studio right now or I could tell you exactly which ones. Great job on both pieces so glad you are enjoying them! Not sure if everyone realizes how much paint is actually in a mini pan, for you to have done two paintings, QoR goes a long way! I love their watercolors.

Yes, they do go a long way!! I noticed that the Ali Cavanaugh set has a couple of the new colors, so I changed things around in my cart when I added it! Haha! I'm excited to get them and add them to my regular palette.

Love love love this video Shana. You seemed a little down on your work in places, and truly, you should look at your work through my eyes as then you will realise just how incredible an artist you are. In Scotland, Qor is so hugely expensive I couldn’t buy it, but this week found the basic travel of 12 secondhand on eBay. It had only been swatched (!?!?). I am yet to play properly but so far, I like them a lot, although there is a learning curve compared to my other brands. My favourite painting you did was the sunflower, simply because it looked so sumptuous and jumped off the page. Beautiful work as ever. The succulent was equally as beautiful, but you did ask 🌻👩🏻‍🎨🎨🖌️🥰🥰

Thank you so much, Anita! I think I was just so frustrated by the end of the filming progress, and that was probably coming through. I am really happy with both pieces and the paints, but the other issues that popped up really had me feeling grumpy by the end of it. I appreciate you looking out for me and your kind words! They are 😱 so expensive here in 🇩🇪. I am also starting to discover the magic of second hand buying. Sometimes I find completely new stuff. Good for the environment -and the wallet!

@@berolinastrassmann Absolutely!! Due to the price hikes in art supplies, perhaps there should be a website specifically set up to swap supplies around the world. Perhaps then the prices will begin to lower the busier the website becomes? 👍🏻🎨🖌️

Wonderful paintings, both!! I’m quite interested in the Payne’s Grey Violet - it looks a bit like something between Payne’s Grey and Neutral Tint… I only have a 12 set of QOR and really have to get it out again - the colours are so beautiful!

Haha! Normally, I would cut that edge off, but since I was working on a block, I didn't want to remove the paper to do that, so I just left it until I was done, lol. Thank you! I'm glad you like both of them!

Colored mechanical pencils? Are they erasable when dry? Are they water soluable? I am on the neverending quest for a pencil I can erase and paint over without it showing, lol.

They are amazing, I use them all the time!! They are erasable, they come with an eraser on the top just like regular mechanical pencils! They are also mildly water-soluble, not completely like a watercolor pencil, but you can was away the line a bit when trying to cover the lines. But the fact that you can use a color that will automatically blend in with your piece is a huge bonus! Here's an affiliate link for them on Amazon if you are interested! amzn.to/3WkWpA8

Love your paintings. I'm deeply concerned about the toxicity of perylene, I've never seen that particular warning before. Especially concerned for Golden employees dealing with this pigment, especially after reading EPA statement about it. Who knew?!

Hey Teresa! I think I remember you mentioning that on my last QoR video, but I don't know that you ever said why. What is it about them that you aren't a fan of? I'm always curious to know why other artists are drawn to certain supplies and aren't drawn to others. Also, what is your favorite watercolor?
