Allegory of the Cave, to my knowledge, is basically about prisoners in a cave that only see the outside world as shadows. One prisoner unchains themselves and looks outside of the cave. The escaped prisoner goes back in the cave to explain to the other prisoners that the shadows are "false images" so to speak but the other prisoners don't believe them. The escaped prisoner was basically enlightened with the truth of the outside world and was not believed when he told said truth. I instantly remembered hearing about this via a dialogue option in a video game titled AI: The Somnium Files - Nirvana Initiative. Though that's just where I found that out from as the writer of that game uses these types of philosophies as well and the game ain't related to what WWE are doing rn.

The image is referencing Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” it’s a philosophy about our perception of reality. It’s basically about prisoners trapped in a cave only able to see the shadowy images cast against the wall in front of them by unseen people. One of the prisoners escapes and realizes there’s more to this world than he previously believed. However, he is blinded by the sun and when returning to free the other prisoners they fear they may meet this same fate if they leave the cave. The shadows are the prisoners' reality but not accurate representations of the real world. “The shadows represent the fragment of reality that we can normally perceive through our senses, while the objects under the sun represent the true forms of objects that we can only perceive through reason.”

"The allegory of the cave" is part of Plato's republic. That image is not of Plato, it is just a reference to the allegory itself. I can't remember it fully, but it's basically an analogy to God. Someone is free'd from being chained up in a cave where they had lived forever without the ability to even move their head, there was only the light from a fire (that they weren't aware of) far behind them, everything they thought was real was simply a shadow cast from the fire onto the wall in front of them by something real that they couldn't see. Upon seeing reality for the first time they reject it because what they knew already felt more real than actual reality because one was familiar to them and one wasn't. I suppose it's similar to the Matrix in the sense that we don't know what is real. This character (almost certainly Uncle Howdy) is likely saying that everything we believe to be true is false, and that they can show us the light and set us free. Similar to Bray's character. I guess we just have to let them in? 😨😱😂
