a strange time for sure but it all worked out and the original Quicksilver still performs a few shows together with Lou Reid back. Just saw them a few weeks ago before the world shut down. great show

ROFL Yeah, There's a story behind the name all right!!!! Since they were all fresh off the bus from DL&Q (Jimmy & Terry being members of the original band) They thought they'd just cut Doyle's name off the front, hire a young mandolin player & call themselves "New Quicksilver". That name would cut out a lot of the leg work in rebuilding a reputation & would secure good venues to play. They could also continue to do the songs they had done with Doyle. Well...……………..Doyle found out about it & was gonna bust eggs in em. So...………..they dropped the name & the band members would soon go their separate ways. They reunited in the late 90's, cut a few songs in the studio, re-released the 1985 "New Quicksilver" album in 1998 by the revised title "Baucom, Bibey, Graham & Haley" & added the new studio cuts to it. The band was later named "Blueridge" & only lasted a few yrs with Alan Bibey sticking it out the longest. That's pretty much the story of the band as far as I know, but I'm sure there's a little more to it than that. You'll have to talk to currently travelling musicians to get the more colorful side of the story. Great video!!!!!!!
