The DJI NEO is not exactly the quietest drone on the planet. For it's size it really is a loud mouth, so I was in the market for a set of props that were a little quieter, and I found some (link up top)
I paid £9.99 for a set of four, and the difference is quite apparent. I am so pleased with them, I went and ordered some more, the opaque colour has sold out, so I have bought a set of funk orange colour. they should arrive nect week.

5 blades made your Neo dropped its wind resistance specially on higher altitude but gives you more thrust in a slower speed. 3 blades is more efficient and less drag that’s why is more commonly used. Love the video!🤘🏻

Hi, Adrian. I don't thinkntheres much improvement in the flight time, control or speed. It does seem a little quieter, but I think that's down to the frequency of the prop noise, us older folks can't hear the high frequencies as well as younger folks. It's quite interesting actually. Some of the music in this video has been replaced, and it fked it up! I'm a little peeved if I were honest. I thought the music I used was safe to use, but it got flagged. 😮😢 I'll be more careful next time.

I think he will learn that his narration and content is much more valuable then any music. I love that you got the same props i bought. I got them in the lime green. I too am so happy with them. Living in the city and walking dogs actually allows me to get footage with these props on sidewalks, as they draw almost no attention. Strange the DB meters reads it higher because it’s clearly not or whatever pitch they use is just making it less noticeable. There is one small downfall with these props is if you use the fly app to record your voice it seems DJI software doesn’t completely scrub the prop noise. So that may be a bummer for some Vloggers but i am not recording audio and you are using another recording device for your audio clips. I wanted to ask if you noticed yet any battery life depletion difference or any flight difference with the new props.. I notice a bit more wind resistance though and maybe that’s due to the 5-spoke design vs the 3-spoke. (More surface area). So not a bad thing for a small drone. Also maybe a slight more thrust but results in a slight increase in battery depletion. A minute per battery maybe. I find it maneuvering better though in my usage. Happy to hear if you have anything to add about them.

It really is lovely to be part of a forest. and now I have the quieter props, that to me is a massive bonus. I have bought some more props, they are in orange, they should arrive some time next week, I will keep them as a spare set. I think the DB meter was not the best, just by doing a sound test using my ears, I could notice a big difference in the noise level, this has to be a good thing. I have never used the Fly app mic things where it blocks out the prop noise, I have no real use for that atm. As for the battery life, I didn't notice anything significant, I will have to keep a closer eye on that, but 17 or so minutes per battery isn't so bad, I have 3 of them, so I'm fairly happy. I'm not sure if the speed was any different, I rarely look at the speed of the drone, I'm always looking for the next gap to fly into, so I rarely look anywhere else than the screens dead centre. Use some tape and a chopstick or 2 to mimic the width increase of the FLiP and we could see how many times you are touching things out there on your next Wood Trek with the Neo. Could be interesting to see what you can fit through without actually buying one yet. Good luck

I was thinking of when you might try these props. I got mine yesterday. Tried them out today. Definitely quieter. Mine didn't come with screws, so used the old ones. Had a silly moment when testing. Brain to finger interface failed. Also went out with the Flip and Neo Friday. Had a good time and tried some low level flying same as you. not as good results. I had a good flight with the Flip following some water Skiers. The Flip had a few moments on Friday. Came out of it good.

Just took my neo out to my local bush area where the Georges River is yes their is a big difference in the wind levels from ground level to the tree tops i flew down the down to the river from the top of the gorge where was sitting nearly lost it started drifting however I regained control luckily because I probably couldn't retrieve my neo i got some fantastic footage iv been going to this area since I was a kid love your videos mate something different cheers col from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺

I've used this before in other videos, and I didn't get a notification of copyright, so KZbin wasn't too happy with me, so rather than risk the video being struck off KZbin suggested to either take the music out, or replace it, so I replaced it with their suggestion, it qas bloody awful! I wish I hadn't done that, it kindnof ruined the atmosphere I was trying to get across. Lesson learned. Perhaps I'll just stick to what I know is safe. All this copyright stuff is a minefield. Nice video, I thought you where very brave to swap props over in the woods. I have the same props for my Neo and I tried to swap mine in my MotorHome and lost 2 screws and that was with my magnetic screw driver. Plus the reason I lost the 2 screws was they where too small for those props. I have been flying DJI since they came out and no matter where I bought props from they all can with screws no matter what drone I had even when you buy cheap drone all the props used to come with screws. The ones I bought like yours though did not have the grove cut out underneath and they where £16 for 4 angry at that feel well ripped off. Thanks for sharing your Ray K UK 🇬🇧 YNWA.

How did you get in for screwing the new props in pace without modding the mounting hole? Everything I have seen on these suggests making a recess in the prop hole so the original screws will fix through to their mountings on the motors. Doing this in a forest it would seem you made no mods at all. Is that correct?

The Phone may have a linear frequency response to sound compared with human hearing . They do weight proper SPL meters to account for this. 'A' weighted for instance.

maybe you can check wind resistance between the 2? there must be some kind of performance difference whether better or not. I remember my old mavic pro 1 I had 2 style of props. the normal and quieter one which spun at a slower rpm. and the quiet ones were worse in the wind but they were quieter.

Hi, I'm not sure how I could do that. The newer props do seem to be quieter, but that's down to me and my old ears rather than the props themselves. There's no difference I could tell with the performance. They do resinate at a higher frequency than the original props, it's probably because there's 5 spokes rather than 3.

These are not quite but they are not high pitched as originals I suppose, so it feels like they are quiter?

Don’t quote me on this but I think our hearing, generally, is at its peak when we’re roughly 12 years old, and gradually it degrades to the point where we simply loose the physical properties that pick up on specific wavelengths, until we either loose all our hearing or we die -whichever comes first. To me, they were just as loud as the original, slightly louder but on a lower note, so to speak. High frequencies tend to jolt our nervous system, while low frequencies don’t have that same effect. So in terms of protecting your hearing, you could wear Bluetooth earplugs -making you available for both call and listening to some epic background music while you’re flying. But I wouldn’t play anything so loud that you can’t hear your surroundings. I do not recommend listening to anything, or even plug your ears, if you get dizzy. Then, it’s better to take off at a bigger distance from the drone itself. -As you probably know, our balance comes from the ears..

I didn't think about where the mic was, I was too engrossed in getting the test underway. 😊 Either way, the new props are great. They sound quieter, but it's down to the higher frequency and my old ears. Older folks can't hear high frequencies so well. That's why it sounded quieter when, in actuality, they are louder.

@ESMOKER1980 Hi. There's a distinct sound difference between the old props and the new, I'm not sure why the DB reading was showing that reading. The environment I was in wasn't the best. There was a lot of background noise (wind in the trees) But there was definitely a reduction in prop noise levels. Others who have similar 5 spoke props are saying the same. I think the DB reader on my phone may not have been the best. I will need to do this again in a more controlled environment. I'll probably do this in my next video. Thanks.

Hi, it's some AI generated music. If you like it you can record it. The website where I got it from is called AImusic.so You.can generate your own tracks, just type in what you'd like to hear. I generally put in things like - Forest, Birds, Crystal clear lake. And things like this. You can also select singing or instrumental version. I hope this helps.😊

Once again I enjoyed your video, however, the music that KZbin dubbed in was terrible... Are some down and out musicians paying KZbin to plug their music into these nice videos where soothing music is needed??? One another note I have ordered a controller in order to fly more than 70 or so away.... One more thing... I ordered new props but I had to order them from China...

Hi There, I must apologise for the music. I did use some other material, but it got flagged, so KZbin stepped in and said they can rectify the problem, I'm pretty annoyed with it. So I will be more careful next time choosing the tunes.

Interesting. I wonder if the dB readings not matching what your ears are telling you is about sounds in the audible range for humans. Maybe your dog is thinking, 'that's louder mate'.

Well u are right to refrain urself from getting the Flip. It's a better drone video quality wise and does everything the Neo does (apart from FPV) but it's not as rugged as the Neo. It's so fragile that my first crash broke the gimbal and had to send it back. It wasn't even 10m about the floor when it happened

Definitely a difference in pitch of the sound from the but quieter is probably questionable 🤔 but watching it KZbin you may not get a ture representation 👍

Measuring noise is very complex and there is a LOT of parameters to take into consideration. The best is to let the viewer judge the sound of the noise as well as hearing your experience. The dB Numbers shown by your phone is ridiculously low and is also depending a lot on the distance to the drone and in which angle the phone is held etc etc etc. Interesting anyway but cut out the measuring part next time. ☝️👌
