Damn the shade at the end lmao. I do agree that it’s a bit overpriced but Logitech pretty much did the exact same when releasing the G Pro Wireless Superlight, and they saw massive success with that… when it comes to the “Pro” name, I think that “Pro” refers to professional/esport players that value ingame performance more than anything. I think it’s targeted at that specific niche and that’s why they’re still selling the Viper Ultimate along side it.

Did not expect to see you here Intel. Personally I’m mixed about the price of this mouse. Specwise it does match and occasionally exceed the GPX Superlight, which should justify the price. However, I think the main reason why the GPX was priced so high was because 60 grams was an unseen weight for a solid shell wireless mouse. Nothing came close to the GPX in specs when it released in 2020, whereas now in 2022, we have or will have the aforementioned GPX, the Ninjutso Katana Superlight (60g) ($90), Fnatic Bolt (68g) ($80), Endgame Gear XM2W (63g) ($120), Pulsar X2 (50g), Lethal Gaming Gear LA-1 (52g) ($120), Coolermaster MM712 (58g) ($80), Coolermaster MM731 (58g) ($80), and probably more I’ve forgotten.

And the G Pro Superlight? IS micro USB, less buttons, worse switches and build quality issues worth 150? Technologically, this is a complete and direct upgrade to the GPX, and its honeycomb-less light weight is worth the price of admission. there's a reason Glorious is just 80 bucks- R&D costs and pays off.

Viper v2 is a greater value than gpxs at any price point because gprx double click issues and hero sensor degradation are an inevitability and you are looking at 150$ being spent every 2 years. While viper v2 pro is built like a tank, nothing about the mouse really degrades overtime to make it unusable. That alone easily makes it better value. Even though it beats gprx in all other tech specs as well No idea how anyone can say v2 pro is not a great value for money

Price tag too high. But compare to the Superlight and the V2 Pro is the better product in every way from a performance perspective. They removed several features that I don't care about ex. RGB, LH side buttons, etc. But it has improved sensor, switches, and significant weight reduction and these are thing I do care about. If price isn't an issue, get the V2 Pro. If price is an issue, the Viper ultimate is a great value right now and still a top mouse on the market.

You have good points, but we as a consumers control whether or not companies can get too greedy by simply not buying the product. The has to be a certain line of acceptable and unacceptable. Else, in 1-2 years we'd have to pay 200-300€ for a computer mouse and let's be honest - that's dumb and unreasonable. I see that you care about weight and weight only, but paying more for less and being fine with it makes literally no sense. I see everyone mentions the Superlight as some weird kind of defence mechanism yet GPX was AHEAD of literally everyone and the first to do it while the market was relatively dry and clone after clone. Why don't you we compare it to recent releases? Fantech coming with fantastic build quality, 59g, 3395 sensor, Kailh 8.0 + bluetooth mode for just 68$. Everything the Viper V2 offers at fraction of the price. With the exception of mediocre optical switches. I have 2 RVU's, DaV2 Pro, Orochi V2 and also had Viper mini. Let's say both my RVU units quality is unacceptable for a 150$ product. DA is decent for the most part, Orochi is solid and Viper mini was mediocre but 30$. Edit: To avoid misunderstandings, Superlight despite being one of the kind, price was unjustified as well especially considering the first few batches QC.

You're right about the weight difference being noticeable. I notice it with my g pro vs superlight, It makes holding the mouse more natural and effortless. And I prefer razer's flatter shape. So I'd love this mouse if ambidextrous with no right side buttons wasn't such an annoying trend, because if you're used with doing important stuff in-game with them, then the use for such a mouse is rather limited. As it is, I'd rather get 2 more ultimates for the price of one of these, before everyone saves a few bucks on 2 switches and you can't get proper ambi mice anywhere.

Just a thought on something. Razer’s “ X “ line up of mice don’t share the same features as the V2 pro. I understand where you’re coming from for sure, but if this were to be an X peripheral then there would be a few changes. • It wouldn’t be using their 30K focus sensor. • It would possibly be powered by an external battery ( AA/AAA lithium on the user side to cut weight ). • It might not use their 3rd gen optical switches. Since this mouse fits into their flagship category it was probably priced as such. I think you’re right about them removing dock capability to cut weight. Thing about cutting weight is .. there’s only so much you can do while trying to maintain a product that still feels solid. I don’t think I’d say it’s worth $150, maybe $100 or $130 at best. For comparison, the HyperX Pulsefire Haste Wireless is $80 and uses a worse sensor ( albeit still a great mouse ). Just my thoughts! Great video regardless!

Not so sure the other upgrades are worth losing the dock for me. I am not against spending money to upgrade to new versions when it's warranted, I bought the huntsman tkl V2 after only having the TE for a year because the upgrades were a substantial improvement. This seems like a side grade at best. I'd be more tempted to send $80 and get an ultimate with a newer manufacture date for the refreshed switches than to buy this for $150

Tbh I think this is the first product that actually deserves the pro name. Most companies add the pro name to products with added gimmicks that most "pros" would never use. If you're upset about the price you can blame Logitech for that, the G pro X Superlight was $159 when it dropped.

I have a contrasting opinion. I dont think Pro in a product essentially means what you are perceiving it as. Pro in a product has always meant additional features that the normal one doesnt have. Plus no company mass produces a generic product like a gaming mouse for the "pros" in mind. Their target is the general public. Im not sure if I'm coming across in a way agreeable to you. But I hope you will receive my POV in a positive manner.

@@PriyajitKhuntia I understand what you're saying but I disagree. Plus was usually used to denote added features. Plenty of peripheral companies say they make their gear for esports Razer, Logitech, Steelseries, and others use it in their marketing all the time and even give professional players their gear. The pros do the same thing (as in usage of the products) as a normal person would do. It's not a complicated affair to get to use it the same way. As a top 1% gamer on every title I've touched from Forza to CSGO, there are several things that make up my ability to play at that level. I don't have the best eyes, but I have great instincts, timing, and physical touch/feeling. Every little design change in a mouse makes a huge difference in overall feel. From the coated vs uncoated buttons on Vaxee mice, to the Superlight vs GPRO. They are completely different in the hand despite being the exact same shape. Also, if you run 400dpi, you can definitely tell the difference between sensors. The 3389 in a Vaxee feels way smoother compared to the 3360 in the Zowie for example. Also, initial movement in cheaper wireless mice is extremely noticeable compared to wired. Any upgrades to the technology are welcome by me, for sure. If a cheap oem wireless mouse is $79.99 on average, they priced this more than fairly for launch. Especially since you can expect big price cuts eventually at Best Buy or Amazon. If they price it at 100, where is the room for sale pricing? That's just a symptom of big-name retailers controlling the mainstream market.

Random frank isn’t a serious/comp gamer or a mouse enthusiast and he is actually so ignorant to why this mouse is priced the way it is. All he talks about is the DPI on the sensor but not the actual specs. All he talks about is the lighter weight and removal of features, without taking about the weight distribution, etc.. It’s actually pathetic to see someone talk shit to some of the most well respected tech enthusiasts (like BadSeed who is my favorite) while also being so ignorant to why this mouse is priced the way it is, and who it is marketed towards. It might not be worth it to him, because he’s just a casual gamer and tech reviewer, but it might be 100% be worth it to a comp or pro gamer.

Like these mice are not made for people on a budget. They are here for people who want the best of the best and the effort that went into making said mouse backs that. There is a reason we are just now getting to the point where mice that have insanely low latency, low weight, long battery life, and wireless. I think the naming's a little confusing but may provide some hints. Razer Viper v2 Pro seems it may be a competitor for the G Pro Wireless Superlight, as it dropped the extra side buttons, aesthetically looks quite similar, and actually appears to be lighter than the G Pro Superlight. It also appears to be priced in line with the MSRP of the G Pro Superlight. The name also doesn't actually include ultimate. I wouldn't be surprised if Razer releases a Viper Ultimate v2 [Pro] or something similar down the line. If these are the case the pricing, features, and aesthetic seem to make sense from that standpoint if those are the features you care about. For me your points make sense as I think the ultimates weight is already fine, wouldn't want to do away with the extra side buttons, and is cheaper.

For me the weight reduction alone is what made me buy this mouse. I’ve been an avid GPX user and have hated the micro usb it has and actually dislike buttons on both sides since I normally have to unbind them to prevent misclicks with the grip I use. The main reason I never gave the Viper ultimate a shot was because it was so heavy in comparison to my other mice. Obviously not everyone cares about weight but for those who do they will gladly spend $150 on a massively upgraded mouse.

honestly after looking at both, I think I'll still prefer the gpro superlight because I prefer the bigger pads on the superlight. Feels smoother to me, but this could simply be solved by having a less resistant mouse pad. but also the pads on the superlight would be much easier to upgrade ngl

Yea I agree with the price not being worth it but it seems like people think because Logitech did it then it should be the new normal when it shouldn't, especially with how many smaller companies have started to make lightweight wireless mice now as well like fnatics bolt or pulsars xlites(wish it didn't have holes). Still awesome to see mice this light without holes but these prices are getting crazy.

I had been eyeballing the Viper and saw this was likely coming soon, but as soon as the Ultimate starting showing up for almost half the price the V2 Pro was expected to launch at, it just seemed really hard to justify waiting. Newer switches that may or may not feel better than ones I already like; side buttons that extend out a little more for better tactility; no RGB, which I don't really care about anyway (but can just turn off); and no charging dock, which wouldn't be a huge deal if I could use a magnetic cable but it doesn't look like I can. Soooo... Ultimate it is. Seems like they should've just kept the Ultimate but updated the switches. Wouldn't be surprised to see those popping up on eBay for people to swap into their Ultimates.

Randomfrankp has been consistent with his takes, but it's sad to see that other reviewers shitting on this mouse are the same people who rated the Superlight to be one of the greatest of all time lmao. The only difference is that the RV2 stripped "features" which were arguably useless based on feedback. Imagine what people would say if Razer still had a micro USB lol. If this needs $70, we need to keep the same energy and say the Superlight needs to be $60 USD. This is not a Razer-only issue

I mean with every market, the top product (in this case it would be the starlight from finalmouse) sets the top price. The gpro superlight isn't on the same level as that mouse but I would say with having a company like logitech in terms of reliability a 25% price difference is fair. if anything, finalmouse is the company that needs to drop their prices. also I think the superlight still outranks the viper just because having larger glides make for a better experience on a low sens imo It's kinda like the car market. Sports cars typically have less features and well... less car but people still pay a shit ton more for those. Overall performance is still part of the pricepoint. And you can't say that on the mainstage these mice don't perform. Considering that many pros have swapped to the superlight and that logitech marketed their mice towards pros who are just looking for the best of the best and care a bit less about budget, I would say Razer is doing the same here. This is not your average consumer mouse and it shouldn't be treated as such. There are great budget options out there if you really need them, just don't buy this mouse if it's not for you. Simple as that

@@sharkscanplay2890 I completely agree. I'm more so trying to call it out a lot of the bias we're seeing here. The fact remains they won't have the performance package that this mouse does. Whether or not its worth it to you as a consumer you have to decide for yourself.

Every change they made takes away one of my favorite features from the viper ultimate. The wireless charging is remarkable and I never would've spent more than $90 on a mouse if it wasn't for the amazing wireless charging pad. The weight is already WAY more than light enough. I use all 4 of the custom side buttons as separate inputs in games and like how flush they are. The built in grips is one of the best features, I have had them fall of on other mice but they're still comfortable and as good as the day they were new on my Ultimate. While I agree $150 is expensive, Logitech did the same thing with their G Pro lineup and their newer, lighter mouse with less features (G Pro X Superlight) sold out several times during different drops. I have played on both the older mouse (G Pro Wireless) and the Superlight, and I would definitely the 18g difference in weight improved my gameplay significantly (currently diamond 2 in Valorant). They needed to make this mouse and price it $10 less than it’s Logi counterpart. You can’t compare an $80 Glorious or Bolt to a V2pro Those mice are full of issues. Razer V2 pro has a solid shell. No honeycomb. USB C (Logi still refuses to). Weighs 58 grams, 30k sensor and new optical switches. They checked so many boxes here. I may stick to my GPX and Starlight 12 but I am very hyped on this release for FPS players.

I don't see why they needed to make it only $10 less than GPROSL to compete, if they released all the features you listed at an $100 price point, they would still move units. The mouse was hyped the moment it was leaked. This mouse would break new grounds at an $100 price point. I think it's pretty obvious they only priced it that high because people accepted that logitech did it. If we allow these companies to keep that same mentality, it'll be like graphics cards and instead of $300-400 being a mid-tier graphics card, nowadays it's $500-$600 MSRP (before chip shortage). Don't let $150 mice be the new norm.

So many people are saying the $150 price is too high, and that is a true statement for a mouse, no matter how good/fine tuned/optimized/perfect it is.

I feel you on that. I love saving money. But $100? On opening day how could Razer be expected to release this thing cheaper than a Naga v2 or a Basilisk Ultimate? FPS players want the shape and the 58 grams this thing brings to the market. There’s the premium. I’m sure later this year on Black Friday it can be had for $40 off or something and eventually be a $79 mouse as the industry progresses on and all these other brands figure out how to correctly engineer them. But for now I can count all solid shell 58g mice on 1 hand and this is the cheapest.

@@fittedpanda330 I know R&D has a price, but this is through the roof. I personally don't THINK they priced it at 150 because of their own lineup of mice, but instead to the GPSL, but who knows.

Is there any left handed ergonomic gaming mouse with right side buttons?
@raymondtan892

i used both the White version RVU and the new Razer Viper V2 Pro black version (I prefer white tho), well for me i think I missed the charging dock from the RVU, extra side buttons and the RGB lighting. The 30k DPI was not necessary at all, the weight is lighter yes but I don't think that affects my gaming experience noticeably, I do notice the side buttons have better tactile feedback and a soother sound to it. My left mouse button sound has lower sound click than my right button which is weird Overall I still prefer my RVU mercury edition than the Viper V2 Pro. If you're upgrading from the RVU to this, better don't.

Franky boy never disappoints. As soon as he said "those other content creators who will justify this price..." I went looking for couple of the usual ones. And boy oh boy was Frank right. They tried so hard defending this joke of a price that it's just pathetic and said. You barely can trust any reviewer out there, that's the reality

Disagree. This mouse is better of for people who want the best performance especially in esports. There is a reason why the GPX was a massive success.

this mouse is called pro cause it aims at mouse enthusiast and pro players , in the pro scenes pro player doesn't need a charging dock, RGB and other gimmicks, all they need is a good shape, well performing sensor(sensor positioning includes too) , good switch, weight, and build quality. I am using viper mini right now, even if the old viper ultimate comes down to $50 i still wouldn't buy it because of the right side buttons. I'm using fingertip grips and that would just prevent me to performing well on that mouse, i would rather just stick with my viper mini

You're being extremely hypocritical of praising the superlight in your review video and then going around and being extremely critical of the v2 Pro. Razer invested money into newer gen optical switches as well as an updated sensor. Do I think paying $150 for modern wireless mice is good? Of course not. But I think Razer deserves much praise for the release of the v2 Pro. I just wish they priced it somewhere between $100 and $120. But your review video just seems way too hypocritical for my taste. If you're going to hate the v2 Pro, at least call Logitech out on the same flaws. Also, other reviewers aren't allowed to have other opinions? Seems unfair

@@randomfrankp Your opinion also isn't consistent. As an example, you praise the Starlight 12 and put it as one of your top 5 mice of 2021 despite it costing $190 and having QC problems. Yet you don't dissuade your viewers and criticize the mouse in the same way you voiced your opinion on the v2 Pro. Also, the way you were gatekeeping other reviewers and their opinions was really a low class act.
