I have the original Viper Ultimate with v2 switches and superglide glass feet. You can get the Viper Ultimate for $50-$60 with or without the dock used or renewed, and it's often on sale. I honestly need nothing else, it's the perfect weight, shape, and coating and with glass feet, it's even better. Edit: A USB-C adapter for it also exists for $10 USD (base price and shipping) so you can use any USB-C cable for charging. It's called encoo USB-C to Micro USB dongle for Razer Wireless Gaming Mice.

Gotta say, those superglides are the way to go. I had some hyperglide PTFE skates before putting on the superglides, and the glass is so much better. Not sure if you're supposed to be using the glass feet on a soft pad, but they feel really nice on my Firefly.

@@natemendoza9026 I'm sure they do, but it's not anywhere like PTFE feet as far as I know. I've had mine for about a month and they feel as good as the day I installed them. At least Razer has much better build quality compared to Logitech, but still price gouging. Only bought my Orochi V2 on sale at 50 USD instead of 70 usd. Cuz that is what it's worth, add in 25 USD for a pack of 4 AAA pale blue rechargeable batteries (7g) and 5 USD for a pack of AAA to AA adapters and my mouse ended up costing 80 USD. I'm fine with it but at 70 usd Orochi V2 would have costed me 100 USD and it ain't worth that with a 3369 sensor!

Despite the improvement on the feet aka being bigger, *I'D LOVE* if all companies focus on making bigger feet/indents. With GPX/G303SE/Zowie/XM1 you can always put smaller feet if you want, but indents on most mice being so small we don't have the luxury of the vice versa, using bigger feet. I hate Xtrfy's tiny feet, i hate RVU small feet. Just do what Endgame gear did - make bigger indents. You get to choose between smaller feet of OG Xm1 or the bigger Zowie-like feet of the newer. I am pretty sure that you even get 1 big and 1 small pair inside the box.

The XTRFY M42W has huge feet .. on the opposite my Finalmouse has 4 essentially dots. My GOAT is still GPX and I'm using this V2 Pro. I'd say it's more about your mouse pads' surface than the per se size of their feet. I prefer a hard surface in my instance. A solid aluminum core covered with PVC with PTFE or glass skates. There's never going to be a mouse that's going to suit every person's needs.

@@8bitsamurai6 .. I play at what some people consider an insane DPI .. 5400 and all I play is CoD Hardcore. Hardcore is about the fastest 1st shot. That said there's a really good recent comparison of Artisan mousepads from a smaller YT'er .. Good Enough Tech Reviews and it's probably one of the best compare and contrast reviews I've seen. Artisan are a safe bet. I primarily like aluminum core PVC covered mouse pads. Examples Corsair M600, Razer Invicta Gaming Mouse Pad, Blade Hawks Gaming W Double-Sided Aluminum. None of them are for sale anymore. I have a Logitech G Powerplay Wireless Charging System pad still sitting in the box unopened, but it will wirelessly charge your GPX and it's still considered a hard surface pad or at least it's supposed to be. I'm getting ready to swap out a new keyboard and rewire my office so that's the reason still sitting in the box.

I'm also EXTREMELY disappointed with the new Viper. No more docking which I like very much and the ONLY improvement are the side buttons. And please stop with this weight focus, jesus christ is everyone having problems with mouse weight? I couldn't care less if a mouse mass is 50 or 60 or 70 grams! What? your hand hurts??? Give me a break. These companies nowadays have a race for weight like those peepee length competitions, mine is biggeeer! Here it's our new mouse is lighter 5g than yours! We improved the weight by 6 freaking grams from previous model!!! Like that is supposed to impress me! And to lower the mass they remove features, wow what a genius move! I was planning to buy it but there is no freaking way, and yes the price is way too high! Especially for people like me who already have the ultimate and like the docking. Why are all of the reviewers glossing over the texture on this mouse? Once I started using it, it was one of my favorite things about it. It's very similar to the cat's tongue roughness they use on hard plastic gun grips. Ignores sweat and provides good grip. They really dialed the texture in well to balance between how grippy it is and how abrasive it is for long sessions. It's right in the grippiest it can be without being too rough.

I also don't like super light because I don't like the shape, I prefer Viper Ultiamte so I step backed and mained Orochi v2. Now finally Razer updated the viper ultimate without the mandatory placing a grip tape and without the charging dock feature that is really annoys me when gets dirty it can be picky on how oyu will place the mouse on the charging dock. Now it supports type c it will charge better and it may have a better performance while using the cable.

While both only cost you around 40$ sometimes you can buy them even cheaper, imo they easily offer the same experience as a mouse from Glorious (yes I've tried a couple of glorious mice before). As for keyboards, customs built mech keyboards what i recommend the most. With little effort and research, you can easily build a 100$ mech keyboard that could fit your preferences (layout, sound profile, etc.). Hotswap keyboards nowadays are cheap some are selling around 40$ and yet they already offer multiple connectivity and have good sound dampening. As for switches, there are a lot of sellers that sell switches that are already lubed. Lubed Milky yellows for example sell around 20$ for 100 pieces. For keycaps there are as lot of choices and some sell really cheap but for a good set of cherry profile keycaps, you can find them at around 30-40$. And what keyboard does popular tech brands offer for 100$? Clicky rattly pingy garbage keyboards with ugly build and random useless features.

About the price tag drama, Both the G Pro X Superlight and V2 Pro Viper are overpriced at 160/150 USD, they are cutting down on features and cost (less raw materials and production costs!) compared to the luxury originals. And in the case of GPRO X build quality is garbage to add insult to injury! Would you like to pay more for a consumer Sedan car that is lacking the entire AC system, the car interior lights, also the back seats and the charger outlet/port in the trunk because it is lighter for amateur street racing? SteelSeries is the worst cause they charge 130/140/150 USD for the Prime and Aerox 5/9 wireless mice and they have a 3335 BUDGET sensor and are bricks! The EndgameGear XM2 wireless at 120 USD is the only fair pricing for a top tier PRO Competitive mouse! Then 80 to 100 USD is fine for high end 3370 wireless mice like Xtrify M42/M4, Roccat Burst Pro Air, Pulsar Xlite V2, Fnatic bolt or Glorious mice as they don't have the latest sensors unlike XM2w, G Pro Superlight and Viper V2 Pro which should all cost 120 USD MAX! And these pricing considering the supply chain issues are fair, still margin for profits, but not enough for ripping off the consumer! And to be fair both Logitech and Razer have enough economies of scale to lower costs to 100-110 usd compared to small Endgame Gear who needs to sell at 120 (and the build quality of XM1r is better!)

You're right about the weight difference being noticeable. I notice it with my g pro vs superlight, It makes holding the mouse more natural and effortless. And I prefer razer's flatter shape. So I'd love this mouse if ambidextrous with no right side buttons wasn't such an annoying trend, because if you're used with doing important stuff in-game with them, then the use for such a mouse is rather limited. As it is, I'd rather get 2 more ultimates for the price of one of these, before everyone saves a few bucks on 2 switches and you can't get proper ambi mice anywhere.

Reviewers are missing this because they dont use it long enough, but the viper v2 pro has dongle issues and it will just die on you randomly. mine died in less than 2 months. its everywhere. If you google 'viper v2 pro dongle issue', a ludicrous amount of people have been having their dongles die for over a year. its way too common a problem to hope that it wont happen to you. Dont buy this mouse unless you want to be stuck paying $20 every 2 months to buy a replacement dongle after your warranty expires.

Got the v2 pro today since my viper ultimate has trouble charging on the dock. Played some valorant with it already. I’m loving what I feel. Shape seems identical to the ultimate. And you for sure feel the weight difference. I use it on a firefly hard mouse pad and the tracking and smoothness is perfect. I’m glad I upgraded.

Thank you for actually reviewing the mouse vs complaining about the price the entire video! While, sure, Razer could have probably charged a bit less, at the end of the day it is the consumer who makes the decision to spend their money. Besides, a year from now there will be good discounts anyway, and this review will actually help them determine if it is a good product 👍

The price is steep for sure, but same for Logi. Just started testing it and compare it to the Viper Ult, and I have to say that I really don't miss the side grips as I thought initially. Also, the lack of RGB is a good thing for me as the battery life won't be affected :)
@michaelthompson9798
@michaelthompson9798 2 жыл бұрын
tbh, the Ultimate you get the bonus dock and turning off rgb was an option to get better battery life than the Pro V2. I would have loved to hear you state Razer “reduce the price by $70” (not like $10 in the audio) hehe 🤭 as the Razers Ultimate is the key competitor to the Viper V2 Pro 👍🤩 at a much better price and feature set. I’d personally spend the extra $30-40 for the Finalmouse Starlight which offers a much lighter frame, unique body material, vg battery life than the Pro V2. While I agree the V2 Pro is a nice mouse, it’s not worth anywhere near its currents price…. Just a cash grab 🤬🤕! The Superlight by Logitech too is way overpriced to justify.

Razer RMA support for Canadians is terrible. The Agents don't read, ask the same questions over despite being answered and when they finally determine your product is defective, their advanced replacement option is in USD. When I asked them how much the hold would be, they quoted the price on the invoice without looking at the fact my invoice had other transactions on it. Another agent responded saying I'd only have to pay the MSRP for my device when I bought it at 91.99 (after Tax). I ended up accepting the advanced repair option - AFTER being ensured it wouldn't be any more than I paid for the controller, I accepted the advanced repair service. On receiving the information for the hold, they had the total price of 91.99 in USD, which is about 115-120 CAD. I've done Cell phone tech support & RMA before so I understand some of the possible issues, however it's ridiculous that I'd let them take a hold for 35 dollars more than I actually paid for the device. Even with the higher price of cell phones, we only held a fraction of the device price. For those curious, it was a wolverine v2 controller and it failed after 6 months with one of the buttons just not accepting input. I enjoyed the controller while it lasted but between the terrible support, ridiculous RMA options and a product that broke in half the time of the warranty, I'll never buy another Razer product. This mouse may be nice but where you guys are fellow Canadians, I figured other Canadians might benefit from this information as warranty service can often be a factor in making purchases. Corsair support was amazing. I broke the bracket for the H115i pump and they shipped out a whole new set of brackets for any chipset - Free. I also had 2 led strips fail and instead of asking me to send in the defective strips, they just sent out another package of 4 strips, leaving me with 2 extra. Amazing RMA support from Corsair especially considering the strips cost almost as much as the Razer controller I had go defective. Step up your game Razer.

Thank you so much for the review, it was unbiased and really helpful. I've noticed most of the issues come with the price, but I guess if you can pick it up on sale it's a good FPS mouse option. I recently picked it up for 99 usd, I was looking for a lightweight FPS focused mouse with a USB charging port. I'm excited to test it out when it comes in, in Ow, Valorant and League.

"It's just nine grams heavier but it's almost half of the price." is such an invalid argument. Sir, if that nine grams extra makes me uncomfortable, I can't choose it just because it's half of the price. I'm gonna look for which will do the job for me. Would you be happy with the $60 you just saved while the mouse you're using feels heavier than you want it to be? You will use it for years. The first concern must be the comfort and what you're looking for. You're saying such things like "it's not worth giving that money for that less weight", but there is no conclusion you come up with. What should I end up doing at the end of the day, tell me? Razer will do the job for me but you don't want me to buy it, well I can't buy the other one also because it's heavier than I want, so should I just leave without buying none of these? LOL. I still need a freakin mouse, hello? I'm gonna pay that extra money in that case, thanks. I saw a video today where a guy telling "The Superlight 2 fixes these issues with the Superlight 1, and there are these things that are good, but they also added those things which increase the money for no reason, so don't buy it." BROOO, I mean why shouldn't I buy a thing when it has almost all the features I need just because it has also other unnecessary things that increase the price? Do I have another option? Unnecessary things wouldn't hurt me if they don't affect anything after all. They increase the money unnecessarily, but what can I do in this case and why would I miss all the features I want the mouse includes?

I have the viper ultimate which i upgraded from deathadder left hand edition and the only reason i bought it was there is no left hand mouse on the market right now. Makes no sense to use g pro x UVP price. U can buy the superlight for 100 euro / dollar. Thats the real price in 2022. Everything like 150 is bullshit. End of 2020 - superlight was a banger and price was high, but made a lot of sense. Mai 2022 - razer v2 pro is nice, but overpriced and its not a game changer anymore. Mice market changed way to much last 2 years. Razer was just to late for that move.
