One of the common misconceptions is that Waco is the same as Waco, Texas. It's actually an acronym for "Weaver Aircraft Company," originally founded in 1920 in Lorain, Ohio. While the city in Texas is pronounced "Way-co," the aircraft company is pronounced "Wah-co." The founders of the company may have gone with that pronunciation to differentiate the company from the Texas city. Waco airplanes are now manufactured in Battle Creek, Michigan, and the company is under the Dimor Group.

Went to the Waco 100 year anniversary of the Waco aircraft factory in western Ohio this year. About 40 or so different models showed up. Perfect weather for the weekend. Met some great people and got to walk around and get close to the airplanes. Very nice scale easy flyer.

So excited to see this plane released again. I still have the original without all the bells and whistles. Before watching your channel I acquired the plane as my first in hopes of learning to fly and found quickly that I was in over my head lol. I still have the goal of flying this plane successfully but as of now it remains my proud shelf queen. This plane can now get me much closer to that goal with the safe feature. @8:40. I was really interested to see how this would land. I have a UMX Gee Bee that has similar flight characteristics, but landing it is crazy in any kind of wind. I tend to drop it gently on grass as it ALWAYS noses over.

I’ve had the blue n white Waco for years. These are not new on the market. Had mine about 8 years now.. awesome flying. Landing gear is super weak. Unless landing on a hard strip. Remove the gear for grass of any kind.

Both! I sometimes sell things (usually airplanes) online because no one wants to receive something they would struggle to use. Like if I gave this airplane to a less fortunate person, they’d still need a TX and RX and batteries and charger. Not really helping anyone! Then I take the cash from the airplanes and make local contributions to families in need or to help fund local projects. Then if it’s a RTR vehicle, we will donate those to families in need that have lost their house in a fire or something. Hope this helps answer your question!! I do keep quite a few as well, but am at max capacity 😅❤️💯⚓️

I was flying in quite a bit of wind, and while “kiting” it, I was only about 35-40% throttle. Though I don’t recommend anyone fly in winds out of their comfort zones, this little Waco eats wind for breakfast! 👍💯😎⚓️

Popeye is good! Nearly 10 years old, but still has the energy of a very young Popeye ❤️ Actually, he is a little over 10 now I believe.
