Honestly, I think making provisions for DNFs in your games would be a good idea. Forcing yourself to read books that you don’t like is a sure fire way to kill your reading enjoyment.
@stephaniesbookverse1098Ай бұрын
I agree. This readathon it was really easy to just count the pages I'd read so far, but I would need to figure out how to make it work with my other game.

Very fun! I'm glad you DNFed that book. Why waste time on a book you are not enjoying? I'm glad your other books were a bit mor enjoyable. Thanks for sharing!
@stephaniesbookverse1098Ай бұрын
Yes, I agree. And it wasn't a total waste since I could still count the pages, so it worked out well.

That book had to be baaaad because I don’t think I’ve ever seen you DNF one. Glad you did! ❤

This is the first time I have DNFd a book during a readathon, actually! It was so so so bad, I was in pain!!

This was a really fun twist on a 24hr readathon, I liked that you gave yourself a goal to work towards!! 😊
@stephaniesbookverse1098Ай бұрын
Thanks! I feel like I always read more when I have a goal, or else I will get distracted on social media haha

I think your patrons did you dirty dissuading you from reading Starling House. It's a brilliant audiobook, a fast read, and personally I found it super engaging and very atmospheric. Whereas Fangirl Down.......WELL. You said it all really! arguably my most wretched read of the year
@stephaniesbookverse1098Ай бұрын
haha I needed you on there to guide me in a better direction! I am still planning on reading Starling House. It feels like it would be a good winter read.

I just read the Tainted Cup and it was so good! Highly recommend the audiobook. Also, as someone who doesn't read romance I loved Part of Your World.
@stephaniesbookverse1098Ай бұрын
Spoiler for a future video, but I also loved Tainted Cup! Honestly devoured and loved every minute of it.
@ariemhetareads3996Ай бұрын
After you finished 3 books I was wondering why there were so many minutes left in the video. And then came such a good rant. I'm sorry you had to read that, but the rant was great.

I'm glad you DNF'd that book. It sounds terrible. I'm amazed you reached your goal! I'm struggling to read a 550 page book, and I've spent the last 4 days reading it, so no way I could finish 1500 pages in 24 hours. lol.nGlad you enjoy! :D

haha I am really a binge reader! I go for a week reading nothing then binge 5 books in a weekend. I think readathons were made specifically for me haha

So glad you enjoyed Part of Your World! It’s a favorite of mine. I decided Tessa Bailey wasn’t the author for me after reading Wreck the Halls. I’ll never read another book from her again.

haha I feel like I needed all these comments before I bought that book, but the golf romance drew me in!

Of course the wheel picked that option first! My brain first went to "Just read a Stormlight book and novella" 🤣 For Bride, did you feel the Omegaverse-ness of it was more of an introduction / good for beginners or was it deep into the lore and such? 27:45 Girl, it's okay to DNF 😭 it sounds atrocious. It is not very demure 😆 35:57 YES! Thank you patreons! YAY You did it again 😍
@stephaniesbookverse1098Ай бұрын
I think Bride would be perfectly fine if you are not versed in Omegaverse lore for sure. I really enjoyed it. And yes, I think I needed them to push me to DNF, because I was dying!

I was hoping you wouldn't pick Fan Girl Down and knew you wouldn't like it. I've never read it but another booktuber I watch also hated it so I knew you would too.

Personally I am not a Tessa Bailey fan, a lot of her books made me cringe so hard. Recently, I feel like she is writing whatever is popular but doesn't actually know the ins and out of it. Side Note : absolutely no hate to anyone that loves her, a lot of my friends do and thats totally fair x shes just not for me xx

I very very rarely DNF books, and I have never DNFd one during a readathon before...it was that bad.
@dianabumblebottom4598Ай бұрын
I used really like Tessa Bailey, but the last few books of hers I have read, have been AWFUL. The writing was so juvenile.
@stephaniesbookverse1098Ай бұрын
It really was! This is my first book by her but I have no desire to read any more lol
