It really is and it’s not even close either FFXiV isn’t bad but the combat is super super clunky which is why I had to stop playing it. WoWs combat is super smooth, and most other MMOs lack content too

I think its life perspective. If you think about the general life cycle of a young adult, if you got sucked into WoW, you got maybe 2-8 years of good time before life's responsibilities really kick in, or you feel like you missed a life window, etc. All of my friends who quit WoW years ago (we mythic raided Legion) now only play on a very casual level and I'd guess enjoy the game moreso playing this way. The competitive nature is still there, but the perspective of where the game belongs in life is just much healthier.

As wow classic/ wow classic hardcore since 2019, I just switched to play TWW, and I'm having a lot of fun ! It's two different games, but retail great by his own way : the lore, the gameplay, graphism, mythic +, rewarding progression... I just stopped playing wow classic and focus on retail. Found a guild with cool people. (my advice to a new player is to find a guild before judging the game). I played Shadowland, it was bad, but This extension feels different.

Wow will always be special to me. Im 31 now and i still love it as much as i did when I was a kid. There is just something special about it. The vibe is unlike any other game.

There's a simple fact that cannot be overlooked in good faith. If wow had recovered to at least WoD numbers, Blizzard would be bragging about it everywhere, and would be using actual numbers instead of misleading buzz words like "subscriber trends" to their shareholders, it's not a possibility, speculation or a baseless claim, it's a fact. So beyond any doubt, until proved wrong. Current numbers are AT BEST around legion levels, which is incredibly good after hitting rock bottom during most of DF with some counts going as low as 600k globally. My best estimate would be around 6 millions, all versions, servers and regions combined. Numbers in china are quite unreliable as they pulled a big campaign, gifting game time cards even in restaurants, netcoffees and toy stores which brought insane initial re-launch numbers, needless to say the number of actual players that will remain will be quite smaller, let alone those who ain't running bot armies or setting up alt runs for their guilds. I believe you nailed it at 6~7 millions, but in my opinion, it would be around 5~7 millions globally, including china. 10+ millions is, to put it bluntly nonsensical, I could make many claims and (non)educated guesses, but the only thing that can be said with certainty is that if wow had a peak in subs, we wouldn't get the end of it, in the launcher, their official social media accounts, websites. They would paste that player count everywhere.

I just came back after being away for 10 years... I like how the new expansion is. Super casual friendly, doesn't HAVE to do raids which takes a lot of time, and so much to do. Another reason is because all other MMO's currently suck atm. Played BDO for the past 5 years but now I'm done with that shit

This is good news but I think it's a bit overblown. The quote was that it was "a warcraftlogs peak." Warcraftlogs didn't exist until the very end of MOP and wasn't really seeing big popularity until Legion, so "a warcraftlogs peak" really means "playerbase on par with sometime between MOP and Legion" with probably the needle being more towards Legion. I can certainly believe that WoW is hitting previous legion numbers given that this is the first time China has ever experienced WotLK and it's happening at the same time as a hit retail expansion, but I think it's a mistake to say "highest numbers in WoW's history."

Everything is in a really good spot - the only issue atm I have is tanking. Can't find tanks, when I do tank it's not fun. I mained tank in DF and got to 3k through most seasons. Right now it's genuinely not fun, I feel like paper and have to double up cds just to survive. Doesn't feel fun, doesn't feel good. Aside from that everything else is really really well designed and has built on DF well

The numbers are going to go down, right now everyone is farming for their main charact but it's boring and tedious. We've close to nothing to do if you're not pushing keys or farming the delves. The lore is meh, the quests are a pain to complete for rerolls. This expansion is really mid, wait one or two months and it'll be far less.

m+ numbers are a bit behind the DF seasons but the keylvl reduction and higher entry level in difficulty is responsible for that for the most part. The first heroic boss (according to WoWProgress (scanning the armory, not just selflogging)) has seen at least 55% more kills so far compared to the 1st heroic boss in Dragonflight. Raid numbers are smaller than in SL and previous xpacs but now tier-set pieces are no longer a raid exclusive and M+ is well established. And in addition to all of that delves are relevant and people are playing them regularly. Probably millions of delves have been completed so far if not >10 million runs.

There’s so many solo players they’re still likely the biggest part of the player base regardless of if people want to believe it or not, so only going by mythic+ and raiding isn’t a good way to measure the player base anyways. You’ve got to to look at it all.

Yeah I think it's full of shit too, I've never seen zones so empty so quickly before, even DF and SL. All I see in open world are druid bots farming herbs/ores. Everyone else is doing their solo delves. Zero player interaction, TWW is more of a single player game than any previous expansion

fix delves , bring back thorghast like , delves are boring af , they give sick rewards , keep the reward stuff and vault the same , just remove bran , give us broken ass powers on rng , doesn't matter if they become easy or hard , u can do it in a group without breaking a sweat on 8 delves , or even solo rn with bran buffs , thorghast had insane potential , blizzard had so many good systemes , they just made the implimentation hotgarbage with the reward systeme , wow rewards are everything , bring back our island expeditions and make a new pvp mod with warfronts.
