Thanks! Some of the technical climbs out there are amazing! And they are amazing we both gotta have one too!

Great video the Ascent-18 from the videos I’ve watched looks like it would out crawl most any 1/18 out of the box except the Hobby Plus CR18 Evo Pro. Guess now I need to get the Ascent so I can compare the 2.
@RockRehabRc9 ай бұрын
Yeah the cr18 evo pro would out preform it for sure I have the fx118 fury wagon also and it does fantastic but I don’t consider them to be on the same level because they are upgraded out of the box. But that’s just me. The fx118 fury wagon is my favorite

I remember when you were building rockets, it's fun to see your interests continue with remote control technology. It's interesting to see different performance characteristics in scale influence design decisions for full size vehicles.

For newer members to your channel, it might be nice to have an edutainment section explaining different parts in detail and why those design decisions influence the performance characteristics

Are your obstacle courses timed? And do you have a spreadsheet to measure success rates for each model tested? I understand that at times the vehicle lost grip and needed to restart the course. Irl, that may result in more damages to the vehicle or penalties to the time rating. Consider how you are going to present historical data, and suggest improvements if any.

Right now it's more of a "can it make it" test we are revising our test courses to specify test different aspects like accent, descent, and side hills. I like the idea of timing them.
@RockRehabRc10 ай бұрын
That's a good idea, we are working on a build series to go further in depth about what parts should be upgraded to gain improvements and why they help with different obstacles.

def best out of the box. 👌🏽

Tires and portals and it goes about anywhere

I bought mine 2 days ago. Should be a very cool crawler...
@RockRehabRc10 ай бұрын
You will love it. I Recommend the front brass portal covers will help alot with climbing but it's super capable out of the box
@raymondwendt62059 ай бұрын
Really impressed with mine. Tires are decent. A little front weight and anyone can have a capable crawler. Out of the box, it went up spots that only my heavily modded builds can do. Lol. For a fraction of the cost. Crazy!

We couldn't believe it either, redcat did fantastic with this one!

Quite impressive!

We couldn't believe how well it performed, especially for the price point! Can't wait to see it with some brass on the front doing some technical climbs! This thing is going to be a monster!

Best out of the box crawler is the hobby plus evo pro . Hands down the best rig for the money out of the box . No questions asked I own them and a modded scx24 and a modded ecx barrage from way back in the day and this evo pro is about as good as it gets out of the box the red cat ascent 18 is ok at best
@RockRehabRc9 ай бұрын
Closest we have is the fury waggon and I can't deny it's amazing. Although that one comes with upgrades. I'll have to get an evo pro and try it out
@mistermasada18299 ай бұрын
Redcat just punched Axial and Traxxas in the face with this release.👍
@RockRehabRc9 ай бұрын
They really did! Out crawler either of them out of the box and it's got bearings and a speed you can crawl with out of the box. And that's before you consider it's 30% cheaper! Redcat did great with this one!

Sits to high its like a monster truck
@RockRehabRc10 ай бұрын
It does sit a bit high it's a combination of the portal axles and the big tires. Definitely doesn't look like a stock truck but that extra diff clearance and center clearance helps a lot with many obstacles
@DTW-bx2vy9 ай бұрын
It does have a high center of gravity & certainly could use shorter length shocks to lower it a 1/4" or more. That would really help side hilling, climbing, & reduce rool overs.
@RockRehabRc9 ай бұрын
Portals definitely raise the weight up. you could also counter it with some brass wheels, portals, and diff covers, it helped alot on ours. We didn't want to get smaller shocks and limit the flex but I definitely wish it had spring adjustment. We are a big fan of full droop suspension
