At $119.99 ($99.99 launch price until May 1, 2024) this mini crawler is a serious value proposition. The Redcat Ascent-18 RC Crawler is a 1/18 scale Brushed Electric Rock Crawler
that includes a transmitter, battery, and charger, making it Ready to Run (RTR).
But the value doesn't stop there. The Ascent-18 features ball bearings, hex drive hardware, portal axles, impressive steering angle, aluminum chassis rails, metal ring and pinion gears, machined aluminum spools, metal portal gears, 7mm wheel hexes, powerful 180 sized motor, precision metal geared micro servo, aluminum capped oil filled shocks, 750 mAh 2S LIPO battery pack and of course a Redcat 2.4Ghz radio system. I like my scx24 and have a red cat gen 8 and lkke what ur showing but not gonna lie id be waisting my money considering i want other type vehicle's like drag cars or high speed cars theres just so many out now 😂😂😂 wished my wife would take interest in my hobby thats awesome bro

It is very capable right out of the box! Although, I broke it in the first half hour because it rolled 30 feet down my granite dome. My fault, not the truck! it snapped 1 plastic lower arm. Ordered the gold aluminum links and center section and extra ball studs and battery. Another $89 but shipped quickly and good to go. I wouldn’t say necessarily better, but maybe a better value due to features and performance, depending on which model it’s compared to. We love our SCX24 deadbolt and Jeep JLU v3, and those out of the box are good but I think the ascent 18 is a better performer out of the box compared to them. But spend some money on a few basic mods on the SCX 24 like we did and it’s an even playing field. But again that’s the key - spending more to gain more in SCX24. But that’s part of the hobby isn’t it lol.

They’re not wrong. Many other KZbin channels talking about the same thing. the Ascent 18 is in the mini crawler category that happens to be competing with the SCX24, TRX4M etc.. So naturally many KZbinrs are comparing the Ascent-18 to popular brands in the same category. Besides, $99 is just Redcat’s launch price, goes up to $119.99 May 1, which puts it closer to a popular mini crawler like the SCX24 Jeep JLU v3, which is around $125’ish. So with the features and performance you get with the Ascent-18 that’s comparable to the competition, it seems to be a good value. No idea what you’re so angry for

Boy your claim isn't hard to achieve. There isn't anything true hobby grade in its price range.

They’re running a stock truck that offers features and performance comparable to popular competitors (eg, Axial, FMS, Traxxas, Hobby Plus). For example, the TRX4M models are great stock, but doesn’t even come with ball bearings like the Ascent 18, and I see many owners purchase bearing kits anywhere from $20 to $40. And if you watch this channel, even they installed sealed bearings in their Trx4M Defender, and I think their High Trails too. And the TRX4M have plastic gears, the Ascent-18 has metal gears. And the TRX4M steering servos are known to fail, I think this channel replaced their Defender’s servo with a Reefs RC servo, while the ASCENT-18 servo seems to be a little stronger, stock. People seem to like the Flysky electronics better in the Ascent 18 than the TRX4M - also smoother throttle input, better slow crawl. They are not wrong in their claim for a stock RC - numbers don’t lie, and the Ascent’s performance and features compared to other mini crawlers make it a great value in stock form.
