Is this weight of camcorder usable handheld for lengthy periods (top handle maybe, but side grip?) or is it really geared up for tripod use?

The HC-X1 and UX180 were frustrating cameras but this HC-X2 may have addressed the annoyances so this may now be a great camera. I am very excited about this. Can't wait to see how the face autofocus does. Will it color match up well with the X1 / 180 in multicam shoots?

why frustrating? What is so bad about a camera that costs more than 3000 euros? I want to buy the hc x20, but lately panasonic cameras have been criticized a lot for being much weaker compared to sony cameras. For example, they highly recommend the NX200 and PXW Z90, and now the new model NX800. What do you recommend? I really like the x20 like this at first glance, for the specs and the price. I need the camera to record weddings and similar celebrations. I am asking for advice.

@@ajridris The UX180 and HC-X1 have horrible LCD screens. And a number of hardware limitations. I also don't like the color from them on skin tones. The HC-X2 and HC-X20 basically took the good things about the previous and fixed the problems. They are very good camcorders for events. My only complaint about them would prob be the autofocus is not as good as I would like but is better than the previous. The new Sony PXW-Z200 is probably a better overall camera especially in autofocus and variable ND but it has no ring for iris, just a wheel. I have not used the Z200 yet but plan on buying it to use with FX6 and FX3 if they all color match in Cinetone3. I still plan on keeping the HC-X2 cameras unless the Z200 is so much better I may replace them eventually.

Yes, I find only three diferences: Design (better cx350), 4tracks audio (350) and different display. I thing sensor will same - cx350 has too 15m sensor.

The x2 is better than cx350. 4:2:2 4k60 / livestreaming via iOS tether and built-in WiFi: and most of all, vlog (biggest imo) update: BH now reports cx350 comes with vlog now

optics/electronics and mechanics seem very good....menu on the camera must have been designed by a competitor .....horrible layout...gets a solid F....users manual is similarly poorly thought out....would seem whoever thought out the camera menu never used a camera in the field. still worth the investment...just highly irritating menu. larger buttons that stand out above the surrounding surfaces would also be helpful on the fly

24x Zoom is NOT massive? Stop trying to mislead the public? There is no upgrade on the sensor, 20x normal zoom is very poor? in this day and age there is no upgrade there just the electronics, no HDR?, WHY? There's no point in you trying to dress this camcorder up as it's not worth the price they are charging for this camcorder!

Yes, upgraded sensor, same as cx350. HCX1/ux180 has older sensor and worse.
