New Renault ZE50 Driving with Lane Assist / B Mode / Headlights at Night

I take our new Renault Zoe ZE50 out for a demo of the B mode and Lane assist on the motorway for you all. (The lane assist is purely what it says Lane Assist. Do not try and drive like autopilot it will not do this.. If you crash or cause an accident during using this not what its for then i am not being held responsible.)
Also i try and find some dark lanes to show you how good the headlights are but the camera isnt the best for low light but you do get the idea.

Hi there! Thank you for this real user review for users with a clear and useful speech. My ZOE R110 Intens Titanium grey should be delivered to me next Tuesday. My curent car is a 18yo Clio 1.5 Dci. I wanted an EV for so long. A 10 minutes try decided me. I can't wait ... Please, I'd like to see/hear how/when to use the auto-hold feature. Cheers!

I was having genuine range anxiety about motorway miles based on the website estimates (despite only rarely having to do a 180+mile journey). Pretty much gone after your feedback. Love your videos and they've convinced me to sign on the dotted line in the morning.

Thanks for another great video on the super new Zoe had ours just a week and love especially the b mode and auto handbrake would be nice to have adaptive cruise control for busy a roads and motorway trips but love it all the same first ev and best car we’ve had for years.

Thank you for a great video. I’ve watched so many reviews and none of them mentioned anything about the led headlights and their brightness. I still wonder if the brake lights come on when you lift your foot off the accelerator?

Yes the brake lights do come on now with the new ZE50 when you lift off

Good observation and forward planning. Have you considered taking an Advanced Driving course. A few minor adjustments and you’d pass either IAM or RoSPA courses. I have an excellent insurance policy through the IAM/ Roadsmart Surety scheme (£250/yr full comp, legal, etc).

Good video Craig, my R135 GT line +CCS is due in next week! Might be a bit delayed due to Covid-19 though 😒 BTW, on your last Zoe you commented that when the battery cooling fan kicked in during charging it sometimes stopped the charge? Does this still happen with the R135?

This was an issue with the 43kW AC Q motor never had the issue with the R110 so shouldn't with the R135 also

I noticed you have a dashcam fitted.. I'm expecting my first EV in 3 weeks time and was wondering how hard/easy it is too hard wire a dashcam. I'm thinking of getting a newer version of my existing cam but was told that Halfords are refusing to 'wire' in any cams to EV's, not sure if this is true but I'll investigate this coming weekend. Very easy just run wire in roof lining and down side rubber trim and feed cable under glove box to 12v socket

Thanks very useful, when I did a test drive I tried B mode at higher speed and wasn't very impressed but I obviously didn't understand how to use it. The headlights are a great upgrade. I can't justify upgrading my ZE40 just yet though.

Not quite auto handbrake. It "auto holds" which locks brake fluid to keep hydraulic brakes applied. After a time delay the electric handbrake is applied. Electric handbrake (or parking brake) applies when switching off the car or when its manually operated with the parking lever.

I saw in another video that your Zoe has the cover for the radar in the front. Do you have the emergency braking assistent built in your car? When I ordered my Zoe it was listed as standard but it seems like Zoes werent actually built with that system until now and I dont even have the cover for the radar built into mine.

We have a Zoe 135GT & a VW ID3+ the thing I really, really, really, REALLY love about our Zoe is that the horrible & dangerous lane assist can be switched off by default. #laneassist on the ID3 it has to be disabled on every journey.

Most cars with more than 50 dc ccs have peak levels but not significantly more than 50 dc for levels of charge above 60% . Bigger battery from Zoe 50 ccs allows consistent high 40’s for up to 80%

Great video could have watched it all day, new Zoe seems amazing compared to the old one. WLTP of M3 SR+ is higher than ZE50.

I have a M3 SR+ and get the Zoe in 2 weeks so will be able to compare. My gut feel is that round town driving the Zoe will have slightly better range but at motorway speed the M3 better range, will find out I guess. I am averaging just over 4 miles per kw over 1250miles in M3 with mixed driving which shows a range of 236 when fully charged

Heard that its poor at it job from someone on the group. We had it in 2012 and wife used to get out the car before it parked as it was so frightening and poor it used to park miles from curb and not finished straight etc I gave up using it after few week trying save your money by sounds like it not got any better.

This is not as good as the LKA I had on my Niro - that was rock solid all the way - better than the ioniq system in fact. But this threw me out earlier into the other lane with thank god nothing coming! - We'd only done 2 miles from new and it already hates me :D
