Is a business combination/restructuring that took place in October 2020 alright for May 2024 submission?

Hello! Is it important for the change to occur after 1st Jan 2020 as stated in page 35 of Information pack 23-24. For example, A company started its production in a new market in end of 2018/early 2019? The revenue has significantly grown since and the new business area has become major part of the business?

Yes, a change in 2018/19 is not sufficiently current.

Hello, I have a confusion, is it a condition that the change must have a POSITIVE impact on the organisation after the change ? For example, after a merger , the organisation did not perform well.... Can i still choose that organisation for Topic-7 if it did not perform well after the merger? Thanks

Topic 7 states 7) Research an organisation that has undergone a major change. Analyse and evaluate whether the change has had a positive impact on business and financial performance. A major change could be ● A restructuring ● Business combination ● Development of a significant new market or sector You need to identify the change, and for the development of a significant new market or sector, justify why this is a major change. You may use internally generated information (permission must be given) Publically available information could be used. Your evaluation must consider the business and financial performance before the major change, and after the change. By analysing whether the change has had a psoitive impact - the answer could well be no it did not have apositive impact.

Hi, For topic 7 is it necessary to use primary data as a source of information or can we also proceed the research with the secondary data alone?

Page 13 and 14 of the Information Pack outline the data sources you can use. It is acceptable to use secondary data, there is no requirement for primary data. If you do use primary data or internally generated information then you must have permission from the organisation.
