Why the heck did I label that "org. t-stat to blue - R.R." instead of R.V. for reversing valve 😂🔫 And I called the Rheem a Lennox Hahaha! LiveActionBaby!!!

High subcool could also be caused by airflow issues with the indoor unit. If airflow is low, txv will restrict liquid flow to maintain SH. This will show up on the condenser side as refrigerant stacks in the condenser

Great lesson Shannon. I also love the look of these units. I like Rheem for the most part, I do find there 90 plus furances can really be a pain in the ass sometimes with how the cram up the blower portion of the furnace. I agree with you on your description about guys needing to learn how to measure SC and SH before digitals, however I feel new guys need to really start learning there Design temperature differences and condensing temp over ambient numbers so they know where there pressures need to be prior to hooking up. If a new guy can not calculate SC and SH by week 1 he needs to go back to school and learn simple math. Yes I think new guys need to start with analogue gauges to get use to connecting hoses and putting back the gas when disconnecting, however digital gauges paired with MQ will teach a new guy more than using his analogues. The reason I say this is because it gets them familiar with targets much faster and it gives them a bunch of learning material right on the screen as they work.

Good coverage of the basics! I've always been an analog gauges and manual calculations kind of guy myself. I like your Titan 2 valve manifold, by the way. I have the 4 valve myself. If I ever need another 2 valve, it'll be that one

I worked for a Rheem dealer for about 2.5 years. I thought they were good units, and you are right you have to be able to decipher the hieroglyphics of the Rheem indoor units. I use digital gauges, I was able to dial in the correct charge, or be pretty darn close. By the way how do you like the smaller Fieldpiece bag?
@sknight03914 жыл бұрын
So far I like it pretty well. I bought it as a spare ( in the rain/ rooftop ) bag, but I can see myself using it as my E.D.C. bag. We'll see. Might do an unload video on it.

In Jersey every r22 system usually is over charged. Those Rheem Evap coils sure are restrictive on the airflow. They run that way for years. I would find them running 3-6 degrees of superheat. No heat pumps so they run years overcharged with suction lines freezing up from slugging back liquid. Most the r22 Rheem usually run around 60psi with 22.

That's a cool little line temp gauge you have there. I've never seen one like that. What is it called and where do they sell them and approx. cost?

You get them at harbor freight. For around $12 Thanks for watching 😎👍
@realSamAndrew Жыл бұрын
@@sknight0391 thank you. I think you must be referring to a different tool. The one I meant is at 8:08 . The digital temperature for the lineset. That doesn't look like a harbor freight item 👀

@@realSamAndrew Yeah, that one is the Cooper brand (which is much more expensive). I actually prefer the Harbor Freight version. It is gray in color & actually has clock on it . Around $12.00

@sknight03914 жыл бұрын
That's the Cooper brand, but don't buy that one. Get the same exact thing at harbor freight for $10. The Cooper cost four times that much and the only reason I bought it was to compare the harbor freights accuracy. They both read within one degree of each other. I've carried the harbor freight one in my bag for 10 years now. Thanks for watching 👍

Good video, what would you do if you have one of those rheem heatpump but your indoor air handler is not a matching Rheem it's a different brand. I have one 3 ton Rheem with a carrier air handler and I was looking at the charging chart and I don't know if the numbers would be different since the indoor unit is not a Rheem. Thanks
