New Ridgid Pro Gear 2.0 XL 3-drawer rolling tool box.

Ridgid will be launching a new Pro Gear 2.0 XL 3-drawer tool box at Home Depot later on in 2023.
The Ridgid XL drawered tool box will come with removable dividers. There are 2 sizes of drawers, with two shallow and one deeper drawer.
Latches at the front help to keep everything secure for transport.
It is unclear as to whether the Pro Gear 2.0 cart will be available separately. At the time of this posting, you can only purchase the cart as bundled with the standard XL tool box.
IF - and that’s a big if - Ridgid comes out with other XL-sized tool boxes, this could allow users to customize their bottom tool box component as they please. For example, if Ridgid comes out with a drawered tool box or front-door cabinet-style tool box, an Attach-and-Detach cart base would allow any of those or other XL-sized tool boxes to be used as the bottom of a Ridgid mobile tool box stack.

They need the bottom rolling box to flip open like an older Stanley design i bought about 15 years ago. Unfortunately it was light duty and they dont sell them here in the USA any more it seems. I bought a U-line rolling tool box now with the flip out bottom and drawers. Its seems too light duty also , especially the clips to hold the boxes together. I have a Rigid tool box system also , they are great as far as rolling and durability , and easy stacking , but if you go into small apartments to work you have to unstack to get to tools and cant realy work out of them , you need a work table set up for your tools. Now your scattered all over the apartment and the customers living space. 🙄. Do they field test this stuff before as far as giving it to a trademan , or pro-remodel person and get feed back !??

I bought the 3 drawer one, and it's too heavy for the middle box. I'm looking to see if any Home Depots stock the smaller 2 drawer unit . Its clear the are pushing Milwaukee brand . Milwaukee is too bulky and heavy. The latch system is overkill and hard to latch when the box is full. In my opinion Rigid is better but they aren't stocking both the 2 drawer and the 3 drawer to test and see which fits the personal needs of each tradesman. Very annoying.

Love this!! Rigid /AEG in Australia and New Zealand really do have the best design and price compared to Dewalt and Milwaukee. If it has draws and better internal trays, it would be perfect

They need to come out with it if they really plan to. The drawers being at the bottom work better for some people. I hate the clutter that builds up in the crate of packouts. Results in having to empty it out and reorganize every few months.

Still didn't get it right. You have to be able to carry a variety of tools. Stanley made a rolling setup( light duty) that has the bottom that totally flips out, middle drawers, top tool box. So the whole setup allows acces to your tools. Just pay Stanley for their design , and make a heavy duty unit already🙄

Looks like it would weigh a ton fully loaded. Lucky it appears to come with a fully detachable trolley, as shown in KZbin video xOvjhCR2GUY - it's so much better to have the drawers on the bottom. I was thinking about getting a Dewalt Tstak trolley & drawers & bungie-tie my existing tool-backpack or bag on top, but this might change my mind if it becomes available in Australia at a Tstak price. Can't wait to see the Milwaukee version. Hope they don't make it any wider. Even that's too wide to fit down some narrow factory walkways & staircases, and even in a normal walkway, you don't want it to be awkward for someone to pass you, which is why I ruled-out the Dewalt Toughsystem trolley. I actually wish they would make it about two-thirds the width, but keep the same depth & load rating. And I'd definitely prefer they make the wheels fully recessed, making a set of drawers that are less wide than the stuff that sit above it. This design basically wastes all the space above the wheels, same with the tool trolleys that go with other tool stacks - they need to be made narrower & come with a few options for a bottom unit that's a narrow-width than the stuff above it that has a ledge on top for interlocking with slightly wider boxes to make room for the recessed wheels. Other options for the bottom unit could include different depth drawers, and a hinged cabinet.

Read your analysis and it makes a lot of sense. It looks like it would weigh a lot when loaded however in most cases it's rolling so that should help. And the price point will make it closer to Milwaukee packout after CT. I'm waiting to see what Milwaukee would do as they are under TTI.

YOu forget one thing Ridgid DON"T make this boxes, company who makes these for Ridgid is KETER - and KETER produce Packout too! So KETER many time just produce something cheaper version for own brand ten sell idea for Ridgid/Husky then update ideas and make them tougher for Milwaukee as Packout!
