The rise of artificial intelligence has many concerned the technology could replace their jobs, but those well-versed in AI may actually be at a big advantage in the workplace. Adam Rogers, senior tech correspondent for Insider, joined CBS News to discuss how a growing number of companies are willing to pay salaries approaching seven figures to hire AI-skilled professionals.

@cb-editsHe is not wrong; Siri and Alexa are probably the most known application of AI we have. Then you have AI enabled smart devices that have been around for years. Then there is AI Alpha Zero that beat the world chess champion in like 2017. There was stuff before that. It's just now AI is getting powerful enough to use it in less mundane applications. And of course, just like VR and Fusion the news goes nuts with any little morsel.

And they always say they don't discriminate, but actually people do discriminate. If you fire all humans and hire machines that's discrimination.

@cb-edits Well robots don't bleed you do, robots don't need food you do, robots don't have to worry about their mental health you do, robots don't need money you do, robots don't need a place to stay you do, and robots and the company you work or ain't going to care about you having a job once AI takes your job. So since you want to feel sorry for a robot o ahead just know that same robot will be taking. Your job while you will be protesting outside in the hot sun while AI will be in the cool office that used to be your spot. 😂 😂 😆

@cb-edits And yes AI can be a good thing for us and a bad thing. The good thing about it is it can write my screenplay quicker than I can and I want have to worry about making sure I don't get fired from my 9-5. It can also write my book faster than I can, but the bad part about it is I can't copyright it under me it will be copyright under artificial intelligence, which means anyone else can still my idea. Another bad thing about AI is I am not rich yet and as of right now I need my job then once I get rich AI can take over all they want.

AI only has the biases we train it with. So, if it gives biased results, it's because we made it that way.

@cb-edits You mad because I am talking about AI. And you know I am speaking the truth. I noticed that when I talk about Artificial intelligence about how I think the devil created AI because it's going to take our jobs I noticed that a lot of people only on social media will get mad with me. I don't know if they get mad because the don't like to hear that we're going to be out of a job soon, but they don't like it when I talk about Artificial intelligence. It's people that get mad on social media. People on social media act different from the people in real life. I don't know if you're the one that's creating AI or someone you know. Idk but you must be the person who I making AI because you're so touchy when I talked bad about AI. So you must be making these robots you act like AI... Basically you get upset when people talk about Artificial intelligence in a negative way, and I noticed that you're not the only one on social media that gets mad. When I talk to a person in real life about AI I noticed they agree with me but when I talk about Artificial intelligence on social media everyone come at me in a bad way just how you're doing.

people are better off starting up an ai company vs trying to work for somebody doing ai dev - mostly accurate - the hardware needs to catch up and it is but will take a while for true commodity 'wide availability' #full spectrum insight #color blind
