Thank you for making a video on what not to do with your rods. :) really has made me be aware of what I do with my rods and how I take special care in not to break them

I have always been a Loomis guy but started buying a few shimano rods. Then I got into the Dobyns Sierra series. All of these are great rods and that’s about 25 years of bassfishing. I have not tried the fury series and I’m not sure I need too now after watching a few break like that. I’m a die hard Shimano guy from 25 years ago. I’m enjoying the channel man👍🏼 new sub here.

Agree. If you’re already using Sierras, no need to bump down to the Fury series. No comparison really. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Hey Justin, this is "Old School" from Lake Travis. I recently broke the tip off a Shimano Expride, and I know the heartache. LOL . But Tacklewhorehouse replaced it immediately and with apologies for the break. I've used the St. Croix Bass X down at Lake El Salto and they handle 8lb bass no problem at all. You'll catch a ton with that rod, dude.

Herb Steiner Hey Herb! Good to see you stop by the channel and drop a comment. I appreciate you. I’ve heard good things about those Exprides. That one had to sting a little. I want one for myself. Rods break, stuff happens. Live and learn. Life rolls on. Hope to see you back out on the water one day soon. Thanks again for stopping by.

OMG! You picked up a good rod. You’ll like the Mojo bass rod. That fury will just break again. Sportsman’s replaced mine on exchange. It sits in the bottom of my boat as a backup or loaner rod. Once your channel gets going well you’ll step into the NRX lineup and the world will be as one! Haha

I have put a lot of rods through hell way worse than how you broke those two. Only rod I’ve ever broken were when I accidentally slammed my car door on my penn surf rod. There has to be another factor involved for those to snap so easily. Micro fractures? Sun/heat damage? Lightsaber fighting while drunk? 😆 That totally turns me off on Dobyns if it’s just that easy to bust. Glad you got replacements
@JustinRoyal5 жыл бұрын
Teh SituAsian Awesome comment and I agree with your assessment. But definitely no heat damage or anything like that. I too, have put some rods through hell. Thanks for watching!

Chinese made blank. If you check out TW reviews on that rod you’ll see they break. Mine broke during a cast.
@JustinRoyal5 жыл бұрын
Bob Barnhill I have seen others say that online. The Sierra series is the next step up. But I don’t know what to do for my next one. I’m going to continue the journey of discovery until I find the one that feels like Excalibur.

I have 6 dobyns rods. 2 fury, 2 Sierra, and 2 champions. Been a fan for years. I kayak fish almost ever day and put my rods through hell. Never had a single problem with any of my dobyns. If you want a rod that won't break no matter what then go with an ugly stick. But, then you're gonna lose sensitivity.

I’m actually in the process of doing the opposite going from St. Croix to dobyns . How would you compare the fury line up to the mojo? From what I notice the St. Croix runs heavier, medium feels like medium heavy etc , and it’s the opposite for Dobyns medium heavy feels closer to medium . For price I don’t think you can go wrong with either .
@JustinRoyal5 жыл бұрын
Justin I agree with everything you just said pretty much. The Fury and Mojo are comparable rods. The Dobyns Sierra however, is a much nicer rod altogether. Things have changed a bit since this video. Stay tuned to see the changes to the rod arsenal. Videos coming. Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.

Justin Royal Im debating right now if I’m going to go with the dobyns 703c,733c, or the 734c . Currently I have the 702c, and 736c not sure if I’m going keep buying the champion series , or save a little and just buy two fury series for the same price . Thanks for your reply , and videos .
@JustinRoyal5 жыл бұрын
Justin Consider that Sierra series man. Only $40 more than the Fury. I just got the 734C and it’s by far my nicest rod. Those champions are nice though. I love my 705CB and 733C Furys. Can’t go wrong. Let me know what you end up going with!
@justin53455 жыл бұрын
Justin Royal I’ll check into it , and I’ll let you know . Thanks again .

Justin Royal I believe I’m going to go with the 734 champion , and 733 or 703 fury . I got a curado 200k I’ll pair with the 734c, and maybe the 703 fury with my old green 201E7 Curado because I mostly bank fish or just get the 733 fury instead ? Thoughts ?

Anything happen to the Favorite rods or are you just trying something new? I just bought both over Thanksgiving and can't try them until spring. I got 3 favorite and mojo bass and st croix triumph spinning. And of course 2 curado dc and 2 slx dc.
@JustinRoyal5 жыл бұрын
Jeff s Nothing wrong with them. Let me know what you think compare to the St. Croix because I’m interested myself. Sounds like you got some nice gear to try out come spring time. Thanks for watching and commenting man!

What engine do you have in your F150 and how does it pull your boat? As you might can tell from my profile pick I have an F150 as well. It is a 2010 extended cab 4x4 with the 5.4. I just bought a skeeter zx185c and felt bad for my truck pulling it up a mountain at high elevation. I sure wish my truck would have been one of the new ecoboost (turbo makes up for power loss). I surprisingly achieved 13 mpg though even with her screaming 4th gear at 3000 rpms half the trip. I sure don't have money for a new truck at the moment since I just bought the boat, but I'm hoping you have an ecobooost and I'd like to hear how it pulls your skeeter. I'll probably upgrade the gears from 3.55 to 4:10s at some point if she keeps running strong and that should help a lot. Luckily I live at sea level so it's not as strenuous as pulling in the mountains

Hey Justin, when you were making this video, would you of ever imagined you’d have your own signature model rods from the 6 as a KZbinr? So crazy to see your evolution as an angler from beating the banks to where you are now with 6th Sense. It’s wild that you’ve pretty much documented it every step of the way. Keep killing it and grinding and I’m going to keep watching🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

im planning to buy a spinning fury, but seen your vids where you broke 2 rods, still thinking they are good? are they weak? or it was your fault?
@JustinRoyal4 жыл бұрын
jahmarko Great question. All my fault dude. Fury series is money. If you have the extra $40, the Sierra series is totally worth the additional investment. But the Fury series is still in my boat. I manhandled these due to inexperience. Hope this helps.
