Britt I think the 1908 was one of the best releases with guilloche dial and platinum fairly priced. The Day Date were very nice also especially the Aqua mint dial.🤔The Yacht Master II range are discontinued. Never was big fan of them anyway.

All these videos missing that Deepseas are now no longer Sea Dwellers. "Sea Dweller" text remove from all Deepseas. Quite a move. Dials are now different

I think you missed the big change for Rolex this year, namely the emphasis on GOLD. Gold is now $2350/0unce and is poised to go to $3000+ this year. And now the new gold Deep Sea, without the Sea Dweller text (Important for collectors because of the change in dials), is the biggest and heaviest gold watch Rolex makes. You could be your own central bank with that watch! The Yacht MasterII in gold was previously the heaviest gold watch. It is now discontinued. Why gold? Because the rest of the world is now hoarding it;)

They’ve got the blue dial day date rose gold without diamonds on the website. It’s immense, but it’s a 36 mm and cost more than a 41 mm date just in rose gold with Olive dial

I think a few people who have the means to buy high five figure watches… they only ever look to Rolex. They’re not in the slightest interested in watches or horology. It’s purely a “ I’ve made it “ Which is fine you can understand that. Some will buy purely as investments… Rolex I think really cater to these people. They know they don’t have to do much at all and there’ll ALWAYS be a waiting list.

I was really hoping for a blue BB54. Hopefully next year. Weirdly, the new BB58 GMT is a master chronometer, but the 18k gold 58 isn't. Maybe they'll build the METAS movement into the rest of the line next year.

I think Big Brother Rolex paved the way for Tudor to shine this year. I guess it’s likely Tudor this year will have more eye-catching releases.

That 1908 is gorgeous, but that’s for an old rich guy, not me. The gold deep sea is insane, I think you’d have to be about the size of a defensive tackle to pull it off. I like the black grey GMT on steel, maybe not as exciting as blue, red, or green, but sometimes you don’t need bright colors

i am super annoyed, that they removed 2 beautiful dails from the datejust line but did not added something new. Especially the ladies models got ignored like always. i hoped for some new stone dials or gemstones 😢

While Rolex' releases don't make for catchy headlines in the enthusiast community, I think they are well thought out. After crazy 2023 (bubbly, puzzly dials, emoji wheels, open casebacks, new dress watch line, out of schedule Le Mans release, Bucher acquisition...) it had to go quieter. And while the 1908 was almost a bit overshadowed last year, I think this year it got its room to shine and be appreciated. The mop daytonas will sell with superclients and the wish for a dialed down mop daytona variant might grow in the wider public, so an option for the future. A clunky full gold watch isn't misplaced either regarding the current attention to gold assets atm. But yeah, I certainly hope for a catchier next year:)

The 1908 platinum is my favourite. The rest are just yuk yuk yuk. After last year’s Yatchmaster titanium and Daytona Le Mans I thought they were heading in a good direction.

I love the fine watch brands do not behave as apple, we dont need every year to be the most exciting year ever… yet. They behave with much more elegance than that! A little color and materials update its absolutely fine

A few updates: Rolex Day-Date 36 in rose gold and aqua dial also comes with a fluted bezel which is STUNNING. Rolex Day-Date 40 in yg with a green ombrè dial and one in wg with a blue ombrè dial which is BEAUTIFUL. Rolex Daytona Le Mans and YM II discontinued.

I do agree that the Rolex wasn’t very exciting this year, but that’s totally ok. When a company continually chases the spotlight and praise a few things can happen. Continual “wow” products can get over saturated, over shadow previous products, and shorten interest in previous releases. Building hype on hype will lead to the market bursting sooner. Just some of my thoughts.

Disappointed Tudor retained the god-awful faux riveted bracelet on the 58 GMT. Crying out for a jubilee with T-fit. Not a fan of the gold accents either.

Yep, kinda get what you're saying... The 'new' GMT looks great but so did the 2017 GMT with all black bezel. Love the full gold deepsea but that's so not in agreement with my bank account... 😄 But that new Tudor GMT... really like that although it maybe a bit too small for me... need to see that on my wrist.

The Deepsea is 332 grams, which is 11.7 ounces. Gold is heavy.

It's just another standard year for The Crown with very little news. Everything is tiny iterations dressed in yellow Breaking News banners. But, why mess with a great lineup? I'm not a hater, and I have the Explorer II to prove it. However, it would be great to see something truly newsworthy from Rolex 😊

Its working now. Basically only the lazer dial DJ were discontinued. The DD 40 228238 got a new green dial ombre and mother of pearl. GMT are all the same except the new one. Celebration 41, 36, sprite and pepsi all still around. And the green DD 40. I think im gonna ask for a 41 celebration now and keep asking for the green DD instead of taking the white one offered to me last week.

Why are you disappointed, Rolex does the bare minimum they can each year... They won't do anything out of the ordinary as they don't want to risk the customer base . Not a dig a Rolex just a fact their watches are so popular if prevents major changes

I'm one btw...in Jan I bought a new gold SMP at a 36% discount for £17.25k...cash, not finance. I really want a new Rolex but I will NEVER buy a one at over RRP - full fucking stop!

This was the smartest release from Rolex in years. They can’t keep up with demand for 2014 models, let alone 2024. Do as much as you can without increasing production demand and focus what you do have already for people who are waiting

The 1908 is nice, for what it is and the slate DD is nice but not exciting. They should have done that blue dial in the 40mm DD as well as the 36 though. Other than that, very boring and I’m sorry but I don’t get the excitement over Tudor either. From what I’ve initially seen, they look boring too.

I think they went pretty off-piste last year. Before that, we have always known them to move at a glacial pace. I'm not surprised they needed a filler. Can't wait for the tudor vid though!

The reason it’s meh cuz you are not looking for AP or Patek … these releases are amazing if you want a higher end but with Rolex quality and not shit AP bulkiness or Patek being not water resistant …

BP. Thanks! I have left loads of comments on various websites (so you can check!). My predictions were more precious metals, and more shiny watches. I also predicted that the Pepsi would continue on the website / in the catalogue, but effectively wouldn't be available. As a viewer with what now looks like 100% "psychic" record, should I start my own watch blog, or does someone want to offer me a job? TBH, I did say that the 1908 range would be extended with a whole new model........... but they just made a Pt one instead!?! So half points there.

Whilst underwhelming overall, the 1908 with the ice blue guilloche dial is gorgeous. Made even better by knowing that it’s not a pressed dial, but done by a proper artisan on a rose engine ❤
